Using Scholastic, ABC Peddles False Information to School Kids Based on Flawed, Partisan "9-11 Docu-drama"

September 6, 2006 (Washington, DC) - Media Matters for America has found ABC is "generously sponsor[ing]" high school teaching materials in connection with its "docu-drama" the Path to 9/11 that leave out key information, resulting in a distorted account of pre-Iraq War WMD claims, and falsely link the war in Iraq to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

There's quite a sizeable difference between showing students some celebrity espousing support for a Democratic president and intentionally lying to children about why a Republican president attacked a nation that posed no threat to the United States.

Did Nordlinger say these bat-shit crazy people "do not deserve to be American citizens, because they have no idea what America or a liberal republic is?” Does that even need to be researched?

The same clowns who a few years ago would have slaughtered their first born and offered them up to Jesus W Bush had he asked them, now mockingly call President Barack Obama "the Messiah" and his supporters "robots" as if the most gratuitous worshipping of a president - and demonizing of those who would not participate in the religious fetishization of a president - had not just occurred over the past 8 years.

On the one hand I enjoy watching Joe Klein be Daffy Duck to Glenn Greenwald's Bugs Bunny (there is no amount of payback that is too severe for the enablers of Iraq), but it's sickening to think that so-called liberal bloggers have their own "secret society" where they tell "incredibly important secrets" to each other (probably about as important as what 8 year old girls whisper to each other at pajama parties) as a way of elevating themselves above the lowly rabble. The need to feel more important than others (the "Sneetches with Stars on their Belly" worldview) is already one of the corrosive aspects of the beltway media. Why do progressive bloggers want to repeat the very practices that have made the national media utterly worthless?

The people on here screaming that Glenn didn't mention Kennedy, because Glenn only linked to Kennedy and didn't use uppercase spelling of KENNEDY (Remember Chappaquiddick? And what about Chappaquiddick?), are the same people who are today too cowardly to admit they were once strong Bush/Cheney supporters and cheered wildly as America fell head first into Iraq.

One of the great tragedies of the last 8 years are the hundreds of thousands of Americans who were disappeared from earth - people once known as staunch Republicans. How all these people disappeared and/or died is one of those Big Foot/Area 51 mysteries that the government won't explain to us... But on the plus side, there seems to have been an amazing spontaneous birthing of hundreds of thousands of INDEPENDENTS ("Birthers" I call them) who did not exist on our planet in 2001-2004, but who have adapted very well to our political process; calling into C-Span on the Independent line, and posting on forums like this disgusted with how "partisan" the left has become (which is a real turn-off to Independents like them). These birthers DEMAND honesty and accountability! So, naturally, they're pissed off when you don't play fair and lay your cards on the table.
