  • The Clinton dead-enders are funny.

To cythera, lolcait, sobeone, akasmith, shawnwm, etc.:

Rage, rage against the dying of the light! Wait, what's that? The light already went out? Oh.

    It's over, people.

I have to say, I'm not normally one for schadenfreude, but watching a certain element of virulent anti-Obama people here writhe, hiss and lash out, long after Sen. Clinton has been mathematically eliminated, has become sorta amusing to me.

Feel free to contine spewing and spitting, y'all. After all, it's your Amrican right. Chant the names Rezko and Wright until you're blue in the face. Spin bizarre and fanciful alternate futures where Clinton is given the nomination on account of her winning all the "New" states (NY, NJ, NM, NH: 4-0! How can the supers ignore that?)

But it doesn't change the fact that it's over.

Today's omen of the inexorable end: Clinton super Maria Cantwell (D-WA) saying she'll be voting for the pledged delegate leader, a.k.a. Obama. Call her a Judas or a Jezebel if it helps alleviate your anger...it doesn't change the fact that she won't be alone.

And when the end finally comes, don't be surprised -- and don't say you weren't warned. But do feel free to post more idiotic rants here, because I'll want to read them, and laugh at you.

But, my own mean-spiritedness aside, don't worry. When President Obama takes the oath of office next January, things will get better for you too.

  • Fauntleroy: yes.

"'If we have a candidate who has the most delegates and the most states,' the Democratic party should come together around that candidate, Cantwell said. The pledged delegate count will be the most important factor, she said, because that is the basis of the nominating process."

  • Where's the overstatement, LJ?

Cantwell said the supers should vote for the pledged delegate leader, did she not?

I'm confused as to the point you're trying to make.

As for the crazies, don't get banned, now. I want to read your posts after it's all over. Why don't you go write idiotic flames over the Minotaur v. Centaur debate?

  • No, cythera.

    It was over already. :)

  • LJ: Disagreeing with you is not "hateful."

"I simply pointed out that the statement you made was a 'stretch' about Cantwell's comments. So what?"

And I asked you how I was stretching things. I wrote that Maria Cantwell said supers should back the pledged delegate leader. This is in fact what she said. Your posting the rest of the conversation doesn't change her remarks. So I'm not clear how I was overstating things, and I was asking you to clarify.

And asking you to explain what you meant is not hateful, and it's bizarre of you to act as such. It's also pretty common of you to fall back on straw-man Obamaisms like "transcending politics as usual" when pressured on something you're putting forth as fact. What does that have to do with my post on Cantwell?

The rest of your argument is a total non-sequitur, particularly since the rest of the entry wasn't about you. Note the transition: "As for the crazies."

In any case, I posted the minotaur v. centaur link, since it [a] involves famous people arguing passionately over what's ultimately a totally arbitrary question and [b] I thought it'd be good to lighten the mood. I find it an amusing site.

  • A little late.

What, you won't be covering all the failed Democratic candidates? Just Clinton?

Ok, well, it's your website, I guess.

He's just in a snit because Clinton's been mathematically eliminated.

  • Heh.

I already knew Clinton supporters were bad at math, but this is too rich.

So the 20 wealthy donors whose candidate is currently operating in the red is threatening the DCCC to drop the candidate who's raised over $100 million this year alone, mostly from small donors, or they'll take their money elsewhere. Wow, some threat. God forbid the party loses a few corporate leeches like Bob Johnson.

Hey, don't look now, but asshat mega-donors have gone the way of Betamax, pets.com, HD-DVD, and the Clinton candidacy. Who cares what they think? They'll either fall into line once Clinton is inexorably knocked out, or they'll lose all their pull and have to find new ways to spend their lucre.

Sorry, y'all...that's what you get for backing the wrong horse.

  • What spike24 said.

Weird how the McPeak-Spectator incident tipped the scales for you in the end there, Joe. None of the other ridiculousness emanating from the Clinton camp over the past few months seemed to have made much of a dent.

Well, the good news is, she's already lost.
