Original article: First Amendment martyr?

Surviving Journalism

As cliche as "fair and balanced" is in describing journalists, I'd say posting and refusing to post or provide footage is unbalanced at least. Not that it is a requirement of journalism. I would say that if he does not receive a paycheck or receives one from a third party only then he is entitled to his own editing discretion and such. It is at the same time difficult to pin down any one person associated with subversive organizations.

Nothing was confided? or did I miss something? was anything ever confided? If not is the purpose of the law to protect journalistic discretion? It is not a 5th or 1st amendment right that is maintained in other instances except at the courts pleasure.

the continual onslaught of onesey-twosey firearm murders and suicides.

26,000 days is nearly the average lifetime. If the school took the day off it would be the equivalent of killing somebody.

But why can't you just inform students?

Well a number of people have suggested that they could have taken Shooter out had they the opportunity. The reality is the best thing was for people to stay in their dorm rooms while Shooter was in the building.

With all due respect to the victims and their loved ones, Mrs. America is rather prissy when it comes to "homeland" security. This was not a major event. This was a rather orthodox shooting by someone who was more than capable. Had he the desire and the opportunity to see his full potential, I am sure he could have achieved greatness on a much broader scale. Let us not forget how to ask the question "where do you keep the hand grenades?" like a freakin foreigner.

Original article: Repeal the Second Amendment

No

Here's a point that came to mind the other day: The 2d Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear "arms". Not "firearms", not "any arms". Swords count as arms, as do clubs and slingshots. We could, theoretically, ban any weapon that uses explosive power.

The US Constitution is not a smart document. That 2nd Amendment is the actual system of checks and balances upon Government control.

Yes Government Control. Capitalism is not proscribed. Nothing is proscribed except the lack of being manipulated, conned, controlled, taxed, cheated, persecuted, etc. OK, it is archaic but that's what worked at the time and they were prepared to employ it again.

Unfortunately the 2nd amendment has been inadequate. It is about as effective as a selfdestruct button. But it could be repealed none the less with some sort of satisfactory replacement. One that is better than guns.

Dog gone land of the lizard people. Papa -- whoa boy! If I could have looked people in the eye I might have fingered it out but it was ever like that -- I'm American but you really are ugly! You were not wrong! Do us all a favor and just fade away.

French niggers

I was talking to a Black woman I worked with about Ireland and she was want to know if they were tolerant of black people. I said "they have a some French niggers over there in Europe." It kind of killed the conversation. I think we both agreed that I don't use the nigger very well. She sure used it well.

Facts are facts, blacks are black and whites are white. Makes me feel a lot better about myself if it's any consolation.

Original article: Amish like me

I met a Lutheran the other day . . .

. . . he was staring at the Amish.

Pennsylvania is supposed to the Whitest state in 2050. It does come across as a culture clash when I visit the township park in Lancaster County, PA and there are Mesito's on a tennis court while Amish teenagers are standing to the side waiting for a chance to use it.

The immigration problem effect the Amish which is why no one is doing anything about it. I saw more than a few Amish girls yesterday evening. They are very pretty. No makeup or offensive music or weight problems (like the white girls who were playing with the Mexicans, who cursed at me yelling something about Taco Bell). They were meeting 3 teenage boys at the Dairy Queen. They drove a car.

I am 29 years old male. I have blue eyes and light brown hair (what was blonde). My genetic lineage is similar to that of the Amish. In the early 1700's German immigrants settled in South Carolina. They married within the church, sometimes first cousins but always within the community. They did not leave. Not up until my Grandparents who were in the military.

I look at the Bible, I look at religion. I look at the past and at who I am. Maybe you should just read your bible. That's where the horror stories are. I figure this is what all the blue eyed girls are doing this evening (who aren't Amish of course).

international law on POW

The action of torture to acquire information from an enemy presumes there is an organization for which the enemy works. The information an average soldier or footman is carring around in his (or her) head is not going to assist any strategic planning. It is, in part, for this reason the international law banning the torture of people for zero information simply because you can makes sense. The knowledge that might be gained, such as bunker locations and enemy resources, isn't something to torture people over. Torture is brutish and it lacks class. As an American I dissociate myself with the US for actions such as these. Paying for the information might make it easier to come by anyways. So I wonder what the purpose of this is. Is an enemy combatant the only thing the US is set out to fight? Does the US have an Army or combatants?
