The self delusion of the military

soldiers are controlled in every way from what to eat, to what to wear, to what to do and somehow they think killing a bunch of civilians who's country we invaded gives them a better grasp of reality.

If they had a grasp of reality they would know the minute Bush invaded Iraq he was breaking international law but then soldiers only know what they are allowed to know.

And spare me the "I was only following orders" defense. The person who fired the gun is just as responsible for someone's death as the person who sent them there.

PS I don't feel any safer with our military in Iraq considering the 911 terrorist were from Saudi Arabia and Bin Laden is not in Iraq

Original article: Hail to the chief

Obama missed the apology that might have mattered

apologizing to the people of Iraq for destroying their country and murdering their families.

PS telling students in Turkey we are not at war with Islam after destroying Iraq makes as much sense as attacking Iraq after being bombed by terrorist from Saudi Arabia.

"his vision and his steady, deliberative character, not his résumé"

Let's see, would that be the steady character that pledged to run a positive campaign then smeared Hillary a racist, or maybe the steady character that promised to bring our troops home from Iraq and hasn't, or the steady character that said he was against FISA until he became president then changed his mind, or the steady character that raised the military budget by $40 billion and increased the amount of our tax revenue that goes to churches via the faith based initiative, or the steady character that gave the auto corporations $26 billion then let them file bankruptcy.

Here we go

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday that the Obama administration is deeply concerned by reports that a detained American journalist in Iran has been charged with espionage and wants her released quickly.

"We are deeply concerned by the news that we're hearing," Clinton told reporters at the State Department, adding that the administration has asked Swiss diplomats in Iran for the "most accurate, up-to-date information" information on Roxana Saberi. Saberi's lawyer said earlier in Tehran that she had been charged with spying.

"We wish for her speedy release and return to her family," Clinton said.

The 31-year-old U.S.-born journalist who has reported for the BBC, NPR and other media was arrested in late January. Iranian officials said at the time that she was working in the Islamic Republic with expired press credentials.

Can't wait to watch the Obama apologist spin this into Hillary's fault.

Taxing the churches is a step in the right direction but

Obama increased the amount of our tax revenue that goes to churches via the faith based initiative.

So not only do the churches not pay taxes, they actually receive our tax revenue.

atheism is not a belief system

we just don't believe in any kind of god

Obama increased the amount of our tax revenue that goes to churches via the faith based initiative

a clear violation of the first amendment concerning the separation of church and state and people are still wondering if Obama will restore the constitution?

The answer is no.

Obama is certainly breaking his promises but

they benefit the right not the left.

The Obama pattern

1. Spread a rumor that Obama is going to do something liberal

2. Obama supporters use this as evidence that Obama is indeed a democrat

3. Obama denies the rumor

4. Obama thinks he is scoring points with "moderates"

5. Real democrats suffer

Original article: While you were out

When did the White House become a temple and a church?

Reporting from Washington -- President Obama broke new ground Thursday by personally hosting a White House Seder dinner for the Jewish holiday of Passover. But by limiting invitees to an exclusive group of staffers and family, he apparently irritated some constituents.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-white-house-seder10-2009apr10,0,1690187.story

PS I would think the president has more important things to do than to spend his time hosting superstitious religious fanatics.

Rights? They don't need no stinkin' rights

It is clear Obama has abandoned the traditional Democratic party positions and instead: raised the military budget, increased the amount of our tax revenue going to churches, increased US military activity in Afghanistan and Pakistan, supports spying on our own citizens, etc.

The question now becomes what will the Democratic party do about it? Will they continue with a corrupt caucus voting system where whoever buys the most caucus votes wins (in spite of who won the popular vote in any particular state) or will the Democratic party become an actual democracy and embrace one person, one vote?

A person is judged by their actions, not their words

ignore for a minute the fact that you might like Obama, want to hang out with him, he "inspires" you, etc.

Now look at what he has done....the laws he has passed, who he has given money to, who he has taken money from, what his priorities have been since taking office, etc.

Compare this to what he promised to do.

Perhaps that will clear a few things up.

Opposed to the new style religious leaders who

only care about how much money they make.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 07:04 AM

Too bad Obama increased the amount of our tax revenue that goes to chruches

via the faith based initiative.

As usual Obama claims one things but does the opposite.

PS I wonder how much of our tax revenue goes to hindu and muslim churches compared to christian churches?

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 07:07 AM

You would think a constitutional professor like Obama would understand the first amendment

requires a separation of church and state.

Instead Obama increased Bush's faith based initiative and gives even more of our tax revenue to churches.

A voice of reason

How nice to hear from someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 09:47 AM

The god people are missing the point as usual

I, like most atheists couldn't care less what someone believes spiritually. The problem is when religion controls the government (faith based initiative) or tries to take away other people's rights (Prop. 8).

It is clear that Jane Goodall understands that religion or spirituality is extremely personally and it's really no one's business....

"I don't get into discussions with them because I don't care. I just feel this way myself. It helps me to believe there's a purpose. I don't want to argue with them. I don't mind what they believe." Jane Goodall
