"Sir" R. Allen Stanford

Top politicians are scrambling to distance themselves from well-connected financier Texan financier "Sir" R. Allen Stanford, who stands accused of defrauding investors of $9.2 billion through an Antigua-based securities scam. The list begins with the commander in chief himself, President Obama, who donated the $4,600 in campaign contributions from Stanford to charity on Wednesday. His former campaign rival, Senator John McCain, is doing the same for $28,150 from Stanford. Other top recipients include Senator Ben Nelson ($45,900) and Rep. Pete Sessions ($41,375). Other politicians may have a tougher time separating themselves from Stanford, who plied a number of lawmakers with jet trips to tropical locales and other perks.

Could have fooled me

$40 billion more for the military, increasing the amount of our tax revenue that goes to churches via the faith based fraud, and over $780 billion in corporate welfare.

There was a time when I would have said that could only be a republican budget but not anymore.

Obama has no problem putting his personal superstitious beliefs ahead of the constitution

which was proven when he increased the amount of our tax revenues that go to churches via the faith based fraud.

He also has no problem denying equal rights to gays/lesbians.

Blue dog democrats are about being conservative fiscally, not socially

so Obama does not belong in that category.

Obama is conservative on social issues and anything but conservative on economic issues.

The economy is spiraling down at an accelerating pace, threatening to undermine the Obama administration’s spending plans, which anticipate vigorous rates of growth in years to come.

A sense of disconnect between the projections by the White House and the grim realities of everyday American life was enhanced on Friday, as the Commerce Department gave a harsher assessment for the last three months of 2008. In place of an initial estimate that the economy contracted at an annualized rate of 3.8 percent — already abysmal — the government said that the pace of decline was actually 6.2 percent, making it the worst quarter since 1982.

After increasing the amount of our tax revenue that goes to churches, Obama does this

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration said Friday that the United States will boycott an upcoming U.N. conference on racism unless its final document is changed to drop all references to Israel and the defamation of religion....

....The racism conference is a follow-up to the contentious 2001 meeting in the South African city of Durban that was dominated by clashes over the Middle East and the legacy of slavery.

The U.S. and Israel walked out midway through that meeting over a draft resolution that singled out Israel for criticism and likened Zionism - the movement to establish and maintain a Jewish state - to racism.

It's time to judge Obama on his actions

not his empty promises or pretty words.

Although it is amusing to watch the Obama supporters twist everything he does into some kind of grand plan that only he knows and understands.

It's the same logic they use to justify the existence of their god.

How nice he's decided to pay his taxes now that he got caught breaking the law.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ron Kirk, nominated as U.S. Trade Representative in the Obama administration, owes an estimated $10,000 in back taxes from earlier in the decade and has agreed to make his payments, the Senate Finance Committee said Monday.

Original article: Debating the Iraq exit

I hate to tell you Gary but we already lost Bush's Iraq War

the same way we lost Korea, Vietnam, and the way we will lose in Afghanistan.

We can either cut our loses or we can stay and lose more lives in some misguided attempt to keep our national machismo.

Marriage is first and foremost a civil contract, not a religious one

Prop. 8 is just another example of organized religion exercising it's special status in the United States.

Obama just increased the amount of our tax revenue that goes to chruches, they get to own property, and they get to hold presidential debates.

We will never have equality in this country until religion is kept out of our government and out of our lives.
