When will Obama come out of the closet and admit he is a republican?

CHICAGO – President-elect Barack Obama is nearly finished choosing his Cabinet as he prepares to leave Saturday on a holiday vacation in his native Hawaii.

He was ready to introduce Republican Rep. Ray LaHood of Illinois as transportation secretary at a news conference Friday afternoon.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081219/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama

After helping take away the civil rights of gays Obama chooses a homophobic, anti choice preacher for the opening prayer then appoints a republican as transportation secretary.

Well maybe we'll get lucky and his plane will crash.

With all the problems facing our country Obama finds the time to go on vacation, must be nice. Most of us can't afford that.

Original article: Disappointed by Rick Warren

thanks for the honesty luckycat

rare to find that in a christian ;)

As a few other readers have pointed out

Rick Warren does not unite people he divides them.

So either Obama is wrong in his thinking or he values the Rick Warren supporters (who in spite of everything will never vote for obama) more than the people he is alienating.

I commiserate Portlander

I came to that conclusion when the Democratic Caucus choose Obama. Either the party doesn't want me anymore or I don't want it. Either way I cannot belong to a party that lets millions of Iraqis die just to win an election.

But look at it this way, at least there's no more jury duty and you can take some satisfaction in watching, or even encouraging it to crumble.

So we have Obama choosing

Leiberman, Ray Lahood, Rich Warren, FISA, keeping Bush's tax cuts for the rich, prop. 8, and Hilda Solis.

The right wing has been in control for the last 8 years, 2 of them in complete control of

every branch of the government.

How much more inclusion do they need???

Andrew Cuomo is a much better choice than Caroline Kennedy

for the NY Senate.

It's Hillary vs. Obama all over again.......the proven, hard working fighter or the personality that will do whatever the hell it wants.

You Clinton haters will love this

SAN FRANCISCO – The sponsors of Proposition 8 asked the California Supreme Court on Friday to nullify the marriages of the estimated 18,000 same-sex couples who exchanged vows before voters approved the ballot initiative that outlawed gay unions.

"Proposition 8's brevity is matched by its clarity. There are no conditional clauses, exceptions, exemptions or exclusions," reads the brief co-written by Kenneth Starr, dean of Pepperdine University's law school and the former independent counsel who investigated President Bill Clinton.

Barney Frank

"Mr. Warren compared same-sex couples to incest. I found that deeply offensive and unfair," Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said in a broadcast interview.

"If he was inviting the Rev. Warren to participate in a forum and to make a speech, that would be a good thing," Frank said. "But being singled out to give the prayer at the inauguration is a high honor. It has traditionally given as a mark of great respect. And, yes, I think it was wrong to single him out for this mark of respect."

The dem leadership approved everything Bush did

I don't recall one time the democrats stopped Bush/Cheney from doing anything they wanted.

Silence = consent.

The dems didn't even hold Bush accountable for breaking the law, you honestly think they will prosecute themselves??? LOL

Monday, December 22, 2008 10:27 AM

It only took 1 week to cut and paste the facts to Obama's liking

we'll see if they are more competent at covering up than Bush/Cheney.

Cultural Amnesia

You weren't aware of it because you never took the time to find out. How much work is it to type Rick Warren in any search engine? or anti gay? or bigotry? or prejudice?

Now you want to give Obama credit for making you aware Rick Warren is a bigoted, homophobic, con man. Are you going to give Obama credit for giving this sleaze a national platform from which he will sell his tshirts, dvds, and books promoting hatred and discrimination?

Dude, where did my $700 billion go?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Think you could borrow money from a bank without saying what you were going to do with it? Well, apparently when banks borrow from you they don't feel the same need to say how the money is spent.

After receiving billions in aid from U.S. taxpayers, the nation's largest banks say they can't track exactly how they're spending it. Some won't even talk about it.

"We're choosing not to disclose that," said Kevin Heine, spokesman for Bank of New York Mellon, which received about $3 billion.

Thomas Kelly, a spokesman for JPMorgan Chase, which received $25 billion in emergency bailout money, said that while some of the money was lent, some was not, and the bank has not given any accounting of exactly how the money is being used.

"We have not disclosed that to the public. We're declining to," Kelly said.

Funny how the christians don't try to outlaw shows like "The Bachelor" or

Flavor Flav's show were women are basically pimped out to a rich man, who after trying them all picks the one he likes best.

But somehow homosexuality will cause the downfall of the institution of marriage.....which already has a 50% divorce (failure) rate.

Thats easy for you to say D. Elliott

your civil rights aren't being taken away.
