more obama hypocrisy:

it gets a little convoluted but hang in there (it is taxes after all):

On the campaign trail, Obama bashes Bush for "reckless" economic policies that are "mortgaging our children's future on a mountain of debt." But the Democratic presidential candidate has adopted a key component of Bush's fiscal policy: A novel bookkeeping method that guarantees that the $9.5 trillion national debt will get much bigger.

When Obama promises to cut taxes for the middle class without increasing the deficit, he is measuring his proposals against the large deficits that would result from Bush's plan to extend his signature tax cuts beyond their 2010 expiration date. Because Obama wants to eliminate some of the Bush tax cuts, he would bring more money into the Treasury, permitting him to pay for new programs without increasing the deficit even more.

But under current law, all the tax cuts expire and the deficit disappears completely. Democrats in Congress have vowed to preserve the Bush tax cuts only if they can cover the cost and keep the budget in balance. Measured against current law and against the promises of his fellow Democrats, Obama would rack up huge deficits. According to a recent analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, Obama's tax plan would add $3.4 trillion to the national debt, including interest, by 2018.

LOL I know Rosenkavalier

I couldn't believe the editors recommended a letter whose main premise is that Obama is smarter than the rest of us!!!!

Well he's fooled much of America so he may be smarter than them but I don't buy his false hope and empty promises.

kind of like when they didn't let hillary's message through and gave obama a free pass

on his entire life and record (what little there is of it) and still are.

oh you mean obama's energy speech where he flip flopped on

off shore driling?

just like he flip flopped on counting michigan and florida delegates.

just like he flip flopped on when he can bring the troops home.

just like he flip flopped on his health care plan and is now using hillarys'.

PITTSBURGH (AP) | Democrats shaped a set of principles Saturday that commits the party to guaranteed health care for all, heading off a potentially divisive debate and edging the party closer to the position of presumptive nominee Sen. Barack Obama's defeated rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

If only Obama hadn't bought so many votes

WASHINGTON — When Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill endorsed Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, she said she'd found a candidate who "gives us a reason to believe again."

Obama believed in her, too, donating $10,000 from his political action committee to McCaskill's 2006 campaign. She received nothing from the PAC of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

And when California Rep. Doris Matsui endorsed Clinton, she said the former first lady had been "a consistent champion and friend" of Asian Americans. Clinton's PAC had also befriended Matsui, giving $5,000 to her campaign. Matsui received nothing from Obama's PAC.

And if that's the case, it's good news for Obama. Since 2005, his PAC has donated $710,900 to superdelegates, more than three times as much as Clinton's PAC has. Her PAC distributed $236,100 to superdelegates during the three-year period.

The study found that the presidential candidate who gave more money to the superdelegates received their endorsements 82 percent of the time. That's based on a review of elected officials who are serving as superdelegates and who'd endorsed a candidate as of Feb. 25.

For the professional "victims" out there

It takes more than 134 hours in the Senate, smearing your fellow Democrats, and buying caucus votes to earn the privilege of running one of the biggest countries in the world......regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

Abortion: the biggest non issue ever

If ever there was a issue the government had no place being involved in it is between a person and their doctor.

Has Obama ever had an original idea that benefits the country instead of Obama?

He's great at helping himself (raising/spending record cash, smearing fellow democrats, and buying delegates) but what about the rest of us?

His $1000 rebate scam is just more of the same George Bush. Why not send the rebate checks directly to Bush and the republican oil companies, thats where they end up after going through everyone's gas tank.

Now we have his senior tax break idea which even the AARP doesn't want....

WASHINGTON (AP) — If you're a senior citizen and make less than $50,000 a year, Barack Obama has a deal for you: the rest of your life free of federal income tax.

Sounds appealing, right? Maybe to many seniors. But tax policy experts in Washington are giving it bad reviews. They see it as another subsidy for senior citizens, who already get federal help through Social Security and Medicare and often have economic advantages over other demographic groups.

Seniors already get preferential treatment in the tax code. They get to claim an additional standard deduction and only a portion of their Social Security benefits are taxed. Many don't pay payroll taxes because their income is from investments rather than wages.

"The proposal would exempt comparatively well off, though not affluent, senior citizens from tax and give them a benefit not generally available to working Americans," said the Tax Policy Center paper. It "helps only those low-income seniors who currently pay income taxes. Those too poor to owe any tax — arguably those most in need — would get no benefit."

Sorry Obama, you can't buy these votes as easily as you bought the democratic delegates.
