Ofergawdsakes!
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Could you people possibly BE more humorless? I couldn't take more than the first 2 pages; did anyone ever catch a clue?

"useful indiscretions"
[Read the article: Gloria Borger & the media's reverence for Karl Rove]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Huh. Well, that says a lot right there, doesn't it?

What Kitchengirl said.
[Read the article: Was a nanny's murderer aided by Craigslist?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Look, it's human nature when hearing of a case like this, to make yourself feel safer by saying "This won't happen to ME because I do a, b or c".
The truth is what Kitchengirl said.
While I haven't read anything to suggest that Kathy -didn't- meet her killer in a public place; (didn't Ted Bundy meet most of his victims in public?) I'm willing to allow that she probably didn't.
It seems fairly clear to me that she DID tell people where she was going and who she was meeting (suspect already in custody).
If she'd taken a friend with her, she might be alive today; or we might be reading about multiple victims.
Lessons? It's all a gamble, but the odds are on your side.
I like the idea of meeting people in a bank, but please don't clog up the lobby when I'm in a hurry. Sure take precautions; but in the absence of glaring stupidity, blaming the victim makes you look like a big scaredy-cat.
Finally, one murder in 450 million ads? Outstanding!

gee, isn't diversity wonderful?
[Read the article: Female genital mutilation is like losing a limb?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Zzzing!
Gosh, anonymous, you sure got us with that one. Nobody ever wrestled with that issue, ever.
Not black & white? Who'da thunk it?

Whaa..? I call hoax!
[Read the article: Smoke this!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dr. Fumito Ichinose (icky nose?)
I say the whole damn article was a joke.

SHCHartley
[Read the article: The fact that wasn't a fact on Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Does anyone doubt that the documents could be released much more quickly if Hillary wanted it to be so?"
From the body of the post: "But a spokeswoman for the National Archives tells FactCheck that there's not a whole lot either Clinton or her husband can do to get the documents out any faster."
Sad, sad, sad.

Clinton Lovers?
[Read the article: Edwards: I "fully expect" to support the nominee]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To paraphrase Obama, Bill's not on the ticket.
I've heard reports that Hillary's been a good Senator for New York, but some of her more public votes? Not lovin' that.
And the mealy-mouthed way she's campaigned...(well sure, they all do that, but...) I think we can now see who was giving Bill all that bad advice.
I wish Hillary all the best on a personal level; but that doesn't translate into a vote. And I question whether there's any groundswell of support that's going to overcome the voters that really HATE her.

Heh, funny!
[Read the article: Tips on how better to exploit the working poor]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But which of the comments were really defending payday loans? Because I thought it was all part of the satire.
I got caught in the quicksand for a little while when I was in college. Thankfully, I haven't had to borrow from them since; but the ones inviting people to hock their cars (the one thing of value many people own) are really pissing me off.

Bleah
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton: Better as a flight attendant?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yet another Dowd column that's really all about Maureen's inability to sustain a long-term relationship? Boring. No, sad. No, funny.
Although I don't understand why any woman who wants it as desperately as MoDo, still can't get it, at her age; must be an internal problem.
Maureen, dear, what's the common denominator in all those failed relationships? That's right, honey. It's you.
-
Gaah!
[Read the article: I cared for my dad in his final months -- but who gets his car?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Get that woman away from your father's car! (unless or until you willingly sign title over to her)
She's already holding you responsible for a tow. Who do you think will be held responsible for any accidents she gets into while driving that car? Especially w/out her listed as a driver with the insurance company!
On the bright side, I guess when you lose the car, house, and anything else of value in the ensuing lawsuits; you won't have any more problems like this will you?
-
Dorismond
[Read the article: The Giuliani code]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Not to break Hitlery's train of thought here but...
I'm sure Dorismond's family would rather have him back instead; but I'm happy to hear they got millions out of it.
I remember thinking at the time that it told us all we ever needed to know about Giuliani.

@natfinkelstein
[Read the article: The filthy, stinking truth]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Jewish People , survived the epidemics of the pre-19th century by following those rules and were blamed for being disease-free by various accusations , ie poisoning the wells ."
Very tragically true. So I must have been hallucinating when I read that exact thing in the article?
Or were you so busy looking for offense that you failed to see what was right in front of your eyes?
-
Hallucinating
[Read the article: The filthy, stinking truth]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wow! Apparently I was! My apologies, I must have been filling out the blanks on my own.
I still think nat was just looking for a reason to be offended, but my opinion doesn't seem to be worth much.

Stick to Disney films then
[Read the article: "I Am Legend"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What's with all the pussies here who "can't handle" seeing this movie (or others) because the dog dies? Perhaps you should stay far far away from horror & science fiction.
In case you never noticed the child and/or cute little doggie in peril is an almost universal technique in horror. The fact that they were always saved at the last possible moment (about the time the tension became unbearable) was reassuring when I was a child myself; but it was ultimately dishonest. Sometimes doggies die. In a horrific scenario, they'd realistically be the first to go.
For some reason, while writing that last paragraph, I kept visualizing a yapping scottish terrier that never got what he had coming.
-
@dershin
[Read the article: Blackwater in Baghdad: "It was a horror movie"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yeah, I want examples. Show me who here said those 4 "deserved" to be killed, or that calls you a Bush supporter. Project much?
You start out whining "Where was Salon...blah blah blah" several people point out that Salon did indeed cover what a tragic clusterfuck that was; and since you seem to not understand the search function, timbuktom is good enough to find it for you. So where's your honesty or reading comprehension or even a good faith debate?
Back against the wall, you're reduced to sarcastic remarks about our lack of love and tolerance. Well guess what, 'The Left' ain't just flower-children anymore. You're not my brother, I don't love you and I'm entirely through with being kind.
