We are now in The Suck

To borrow an idiom from our troops.

No, Glenn, we no longer differentiate Israel and the US. It is abortion and gay marriage. It is tax cuts for the wealthy. It is "stay the course" and The Surge. It is yet one more topic that many Americans know little about but By God We Must Support Israel or the terrorists win.

Of course Glenn, you are anti-Israel and an anti-Semite and somewhere in there you hate America and our freedoms. At least that's what the wingnuts will say. How dare you choose to support the Murderers of Hamas against the peace-loving Israels and their rose-petal bombs? They will say.

No, McCain, who is quickly becoming scarier than George W. Bush, is a Maverick and a Straight-Talker.

We are now in The Suck.

Glenn for the Nobel Peace Prize

Is this yet Another Serious Issue that, ultimately, is going to go nowhere?

Not to dump on your excellent work Glenn, but is all of your hard work and the hard work of countless others just going to make a headline, have Waxman or Conyers have a hearing, and that's it?

As of today, less than 6-months from the election, no real consequences have been paid from anyone in this administration. Scooter walked and that's as close as we've gotten.

Glenn, do you have a sense or any idea of the urgency of this latest scandal? The other one that has a good shot is the Siegelman case.

We are running out of time.

What hath the Democratic congress Done?

Glen, I feel your pain regarding this Congress. I will make no excuses for them.

But I think you should re-frame your question thusly: what other disasters would have occured with a Republican Congress still in place.

First thing that comes to mind is a bombing/invasion of Iran.

We never would have seen Phase II. Rumsfeld would still be the man. Bush would be as emoblened as ever.

Also, you may want to look into the Sinclair situation a bit closer. I thought I had read that it was simply a room that was rented and the Press Club (or whoever) has nothing to do with his presentation.

Is it a done deal?

Will there be a Chris Dodd stance? Will there be a netroots movement to try and stop this?

Are the Democrats really this stupid?

And is it really all about money? Or a miscalculation that it will harm them politically?

Gave my c-note

And it felt good.

We can't loose this fight. Come on, if you haven't donated, do so now.

Thanks Glenn and to all the other bloggers/activists/citizens who are fighting the good fight.

It's a shame

I agree that my strong support for Obama is now nothing more than a "he's better than McCain" vote.

Fortunately I gave up on Countdown a while back. I've always admired and respected Olbermann, but his nightly casting call of Alter, Wolfe, etc. was just too boorish.

Yeah, the occasional John Dean and Rachel Maddow was nice. And of course the Worst Person in the World was okay.

Glenn, I agree with you 100%. My only rationalization is that Obama is gunning to win and he truly believes that to vote otherwise would diminish that chance.

I'm not saying its justified or right, but damnit, I have to have something to hold on to.

Thanks for you work. Outstanding as usual.

Disgusted and Saddened

I will still vote for Obama, but I no longer support him.

I will not give him money.

Our only hope is a more progressive Congress and the removal of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

We will have to force a President Obama to move back to the left from the ground up.

The Democrats in Congress are no better than the Republicans.

Glenn, I know you will keep doing what you're doing.

Mr. Koppelman, are you f****ing serious?

Salon.com, home to Joe Conasan, Glenn Greenwald, etc., is also home to a story touting the journalistic bona fides of the National Enquirer AND Fox news?

I ask again, are you f***ing serious Mr. Koppelman?

I guess if Drudge links to it, then it must be gospel.

Even if it were true, why should you care? Why should any of us care?

I expect this occasional, deranged trips to looney-land from Slate, but not Salon.com

Perhaps with some more of your prodding the MSM will jump on this obviously very important story being reported by the stellar National Enquirer and the always trustworthy Fox News.

Bravo, sir. Bravo.

AKA Response

AKA-

I love it. Feed the monster by granting authenticity to every smear and rumor out there. Drudge must love you.

Coming soon: "Ob(s)ama, The Gay Muslim Terrorist"

Here at Salon, not only is it NOT relevant what celebrities are doing with their persona lives, it is not relevant what a pol is doing, even John McCain.

Yeah, other voters care about politicians sex lives. They are called wingnuts, aka: Republicans.

Honeybee

If it were a female I would still have the same response.

Of course it WILL be a big story, if true. But Mr. Koppelman wrote his blog on the reporting of the NE and Fox News.

And get this: I'm ragging on Mr. Koppelman. And he's a HE!!

So please, this has nothing to do with protecting my homeboy simply because he is a man.

Feels So Good

C-Note for the cause.

Thanks Glenn for being so diligent and staying on top of this for us.

I think the trend is looking good for progressives, to wit Cohen squashing Tinker.

If we can stay focused I think 2010 and 2012 could be real game-changing years.

Sick to my stomach

It's not that I can't believe this is happening here, but I can't believe this is happening here.

It is so grotesque that this is accepted as routine by the Powers to Be. Since it's the DirtyFuckingHippies, who gives a shit.

Tragically I don't see an Obama administration or the current Democratic Congress doing a damn thing about this.

More, better Democrats (or somebody) is the only avenue I guess.

Disgusting.
