Well, try looking at it this way.

Methampetamine dealers are launching a new brand called Sparkle designed to appeal specifically to women. While essentially the same as traditional methamphetamine, the new product has been given a light citrus scent and is contained in a slimmer, slightly curved vial designed to seem feminine.

"While there are a number of female users, we've had little success glamorizing meth." said Charles "Skullf***er" Browski who will be distributing the new product for a trial run in Detroit's west side. "Although calling meth crystal attracted some women, by and large the utilitarian vials and unpleasant odour meant that the nickname crank became much more widely used. We see Sparkle as a way to rebrand meth and make it seem more appealing, more girly maybe to the consumer. We want smoking a vial of Sparkle to be as natural and empowering to today's young women as buying shoes and table dancing."

Advertising is expected to revolve around the light party ambience and fashionable slenderness that methamphetamine use helps facilitate. "We see this as the ideal product for the slightly naughty, afterhours atmosphere of a girls night out." said Browski, adding that he anticipates the product creating a lot of consumer loyalty. "After the first couple of vials of Sparkle them ho's will be mine."

Truly forward looking.

By having abstinence based sex education, proclaiming abortion as murder and now suggesting that we openly heap contempt on unwed mothers society can now move firmly on into the nineteenth century.

One reason why low income women in the 25-29 age range are having children out of wedlock on purpose that they can't support could simply be a mix of despair and practicality. They want to have children and realize that their lives are never going to get better. They're never going to have a decent job or find a guy with one who'll marry them and provide for a traditional nuclear family. Might as well have the kids now then. This has less to do with feckless stupidity and everything to do with the increasingly brutal economic divide.

About the only thing I can agree with the Ms Yoffe on is that if you think this is the right person for you and a child is on the way then making it legal is the smart thing to do. You're past the something better might come along stage.

I would like to finish by saying that I'm pro-abortion. If you're not sure you want a child, don't have one.

Original article: Make mine a Mrs. Robinson!

Well in fairness.

"In contrast, Hillary Clinton has lost her sexual appeal as her power and influence has increased. When she was seen as a first lady, even a highly involved one, she was seen in a much more gentle light. However, now that she is a senator and a presidential hopeful, she is seen as shrill, cold, harsh, etc. She is also a mother, and even though she is not described as nurturing, she is seen as a matron, because she has a child. This makes her no longer desirable and sexual. When a woman has a child she becomes sexless, when a man has a child he becomes virile."

One reason Hillary doesn't want to be seen as sexy is that she doesn't want to be. The old principle of respect for a women's ability dropping when she is perceived as sexy is still in operation. Although it's OK for men to be sexy and powerful but only in a very traditional macho way. Would you take Keaunu Reeves or Orlando Bloom seriously as political contenders?

Has anyone else noticed that all the FILFs (may I suggest Dad's I'd Like to F***, if you want to take this semi-seriously) are more like grandfather age. Women start being considered MILFs in their late thirties, an age when men are still allowed to be just sexy (at least in Hollywood). My nominee is Sam Rockwell, he's old enough to be a dad and still very cute. I don't drink so I'm just guessing at appropriate recipe ingredients.

Does anyone remember?

Futurama already did an episode about this, the one with Lucy Liu which is arguably better, funnier and (most importantly) shorter than any of the films mentioned.

It has to be said that it's a truism that Asian women are inherently submissive, have petite childwomen bodies and prize their men's sexual pleasure above their own. You know, like Margaret Cho.

Original article: Good men, bad war

Maybe not.

It might not be who the marines are but college benefits is one of the main reasons a lot of people sign up. If you're poor and you can't net a scholarship then joining the army is about the only way to pay for college. Marines are mostly doing the job they've always wanted but the regular army are often doing it as a way forward in their lives.

Original article: The end of men

I love the smell of gender essentialism in the morning.

I always find it annoying when a female character who acts in a way we don't consider stereotypically feminine is referred to as a man in drag.

For the nearest you can get to this scenario in the real world, you might be interested in studying up on women's prisons where there's a lot women who take on roles we might consider male and act in ways your friend would doubtless insist women don't act.

My own opinion is that a world deprived of either sex would continue to be just as messed up as this one.
