NARAL might have been wiser to wait but don't vote McCain

I'll admit I don't get all of this furor. Respectfully do understand Senator Clinton's distinguished record on a woman's right to choose, pushing through passage of Plan B, holding up the appointment of an FDA commissioner to do so, speaking out during the nomination of Supreme Court Justices on this issue.

She definitely has an esteemed record.

Having said that I honestly don't understand how any woman who is sincerely as passionate about this issue as many here (and certainly those on the NARAL blog claim to be) could possibly vote for John McCain. Barack Obama, on the other hand, is clearly a pro-choice Democratic candidate.

He has spoken out on the issue many times. He has a strong wife and two daughters, and has always been unequivocal about the need to support a woman's right to choose. As a matter of fact if you'll remember he actually got in a little trouble when he spoke out for choice and sex ed in schools saying he didn't want his daughters prematurely forced to be penalized with a baby.

McCain is as anti-choice as you can get. He's stated it on numerous occassions. Women will literally lose their right to choose if he's elected.

And the next president could easily appoint 4 Supreme Court Justices. The odds are he or she will be appointing at least two. Breyer (who is liberal) is 88 years old. Ginsberg is 75. Even Breyer is 70.

Again I understand the well-earned esteem Senator Clinton is held in on this issue. But please, please, PLEASE think about what you're doing if you feel this strongly about choice before you go into the ballot box and vote for a candidate (John McCain) who will appoint justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade.

While Senator Obama could never be the stalwart on this issue Senator Clinton is, I would ask that you please consider him and give him credit for being a pro-choice candidate. Certainly do not vote for McCain. And don't not vote at all. There was a time (some of you well remember) when we didn't have Roe v. Wade. Decisions are overturned. We could go back to that. Sorry if this post was too long, just hoping when people calm down (and I understand why they are upset) they will at least THINK about issues larger than themselves no matter how hard, personally, that might be.

Quick Obama pro-life ratings

2007: In 2007 NARAL Pro-Choice America gave Senator Obama a grade of 100.

2006: Senator Obama supported the interests of the NARAL Pro-Choice America 100 percent in 2006.

2006: Senator Obama supported the interests of the Planned Parenthood 100 percent in 2006.

2005-2006: Senator Obama supported the interests of the National Right to Life Committee 0 percent in 2005-2006.

2005: Senator Obama supported the interests of the NARAL Pro-Choice America 100 percent in 2005.

Again think NARAL was trying to heal the rifts in the Party, help try to unite us around the nominee and beat the anti-choice, pro-life candidate: John McCain.

Not one of those who think the calls to get Hillary out of the race are sexist (Romney and Huckabee were pushed out too.) But do agree some of the press coverage has definitely been extremely disappointing.

P.S. meant to say Stevens (Carter appointee) is 88 and Breyer (also liberal) is 69.

He'll hold the Midwestern states

Granted Michigan will be a little dicey, but Kilpatrick's getting pushed out any day now and that will help ease some (not all) of the divisions there. So Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, check. We do this everytime around. Midwestern candidates hold their region. Period. And he does have a decent chance at Missouri. (Southerners do the same thing, they hold the South.) Dukakis was from Massachusetts, can't speak for the East Coast.

Almost say put that bore Strickland on the ticket and go with the Ohio strategy only because it's the surest route of the 3. Also, don't think it's at all impossible for him to take Colorado and Virginia.

Don't know much about out west. Not going out on a limb there. Just going to assume he'll lose New Mexico and Nevada to be safe.

This exchange was truly great

My favorite part was either when Matthews dropped his head into his hands, and looked almost lie he was praying while KJ went rambling on. Or when Kevin finally had to admit, "No, I don't know."

Also great was Matthews "You don't know anything." Hahaha. Ahh freakin classic. They already updated James' Wikipedia page to reflect this exchange. Kevin James, like most of the right wing, is a freakin' moron.

When they're down to shooting him as the only way to stop him . . .

. . . you know the Republicans are in trouble. Face it: they have absolutely no gameplan as to how to deal with Obama. And I, for one, am loving it.
