Well I'm sorry he didn't defend her

To the Clinton supporters I am sorry he didn't defend her more. But I do think he deserves some credit for standing up for her and not taking the bait on the stupid Tuzla "sniper" question.

It's the first time I've seen a candidate do that for another candidate just about ever. It's also as close as I've seen someone come to defending the person who's trying to take the nomination away from him.

Were the Clinton supporters to give him some credit, even for this, then I'd think we were approaching something closer to a real dialogue. Many of them are reasonable. But for some reason they won't give him credit even on that.

There have been other examples, on both sides, his and hers, where they took up for each other. The sad part is that this fight, which intially started out as a good thing, has come down to this slime contest. But, oh well it has. We can disagree about where the blame for this lies, but it's still an embarassment that something that started out so good for the Democratic Party and America has devolved into this.

No there's no debate, it's clear the media did a terrible job, where's Glenn

Do we need to explain this to you again? It's about the fact the press totally mailed it in and abandoned their job Wednesday night.

The Ayers question was the perfect example. Ben Smith over at Politico at least had the guts to admit it was a planted question and the media was mad because when they'd tried to ask it in the past it didn't get answered.

This was all about journalism finally falling below even the basic standard of their jobs, and finally getting called on it by the American people. Now, a select few of them, are still trying to take up for their ilk for no reason whatsoever.

A travesty. Period. Spin it any way you want, it doesn't have to do with which candidate was being attacked. Worst. Debate. Ever. That's why all the criticism for this one.

I didn't care for her slamming the so-called Democratic elites

What have they ever done? They managed to win control of the both the House and Senate in 2006. What have you and Bill done? You managed to lose control of both the House and Senate in 1994.

I'll take the liberal activists at Moveon.org. They have a track record of winning.

Every time you try to cut this Hillary a break, she comes back and does something outrageous like this. It's honestly hard to tolerate her at this point.

Does Joan Walsh have any credibility left?

Fortunately, as others have told you Joan, it wasn't a stumble. This is precisely the problem with the media. They try to spin the story instead of reporting it like it is. I'd say 20,000 responses at abcnews.com ought to show you it wasn't a stumble.

This is precisely what Glenn Greenwald is talking about. You should sit down and have a long conversation with him, Joan.

Also as others have pointed out 35,000 people showed up at Obama's speech in Philadelphia last night. They then marched down Market Street. Pretty big story. Ambinder has it over at the Atlantic.

But of course the press isn't interested in covering that because it doesn't fit their neat little story line of "Things going bad for Obama post-debate. Pay no attention to what the people are saying. They're not important. We here in the media shape the news, not report it. And if it doesn't fit what we want, we just ignore it."

It's a shame we can't get a working Fourth Estate in this country that actually does its job. And you wonder how they let the drum-up to this war slip by without ever questioning anyone. The MSM is an embarassment. Salon's following increasingly closer behind every day.

WTF?

Look if you're thinking this much about it you and your husband are both clearly highly empathetic people. To me that's one of the most important things it takes to have a kid.

You both sound happy, healthy and tuned into other's wants and needs. What more does it take? It doesn't sound like you financially couldn't support the kid. So go for it. Have him or her.

Better that than regretting never having had the kid, and being bitter 40 years from now. It sounds like you'd do your best. That's all anyone can ask. People like you are the perfect people TO have kids. Selfish people who don't give it a second thought aren't. Do us all a favor and bring a kid into this world with two parents clearly concerned with his or her needs.

This continues with the Clinton and Baby Boomer theme of having discovered everything for the first time including now. . .middle age

Yeah you are getting older, Bill. You're not as sharp as you used to be. Nor is Hillary. Again no one's saying she wouldn't be a great Senate Majority Leader or any of a dozen other posts.

But presidents, no.

And I don't feel bad saying that because it's Hillary's campaign that established this absurd 3 a.m. in the morning ringing red phone standard.

You yourself claimed she had a "senior moment" and forgot something the other day. The presidency if anything, is becoming more intensive and fast-moving. We live in a 24-hour a day world now. Sorry.

So yeah, in that respect, age matters. Someone should stop him before he totally destroys her candidacy. Or tell him to at least not do it in North Carolina where 25% of the electorate is between 18 and 29. It ain't gonna help.

Nor did his saying young people were "naive" enough to fall for Obama the other day. The generational war, which I've always argued the Clintons started and persist by comments like this, have done nothing to help her. They should cut it out. Otherwise it's absurd to think those you're dissing are going to come around to you.
