Uuuugghh never mind

For crying out loud can't we get past this?

Can we all at least agree in this last instance Geraldine Ferraro injected race into the conversation? Okay are we good with that much?

Then let's try and just move forward. Listen I'm black, it pisses me off too. Really pisses me off. I'm sure someone on here will try to twist that against me. Too bad.

Both African Americans and women have a myriad of reasons for voting the way they do in this election. Neither side should assume the other is only voting for their candidate because of race and gender.

When white men were voting for Barack was it just because he was a man? Now that they're voting for Hillary is it just because she's a woman?

Honestly we have to stop this, NOW! No more statements like Geraldine Ferraro's okay? I'll try to move past it (although it would help if she actually apologized) and we can get back to running a real race. Sound good?

Somehow though I know some idiot out there is going to nitpick this too and we'll be back to square one.

Sorry the end of the sentence should have read differently

When white men were voting for Obama was it just because he was a man and now that they're voting for Hillary is it just because she's white?

Why it doesn't bode as bad as you think

1. It's Mississippi. Now no disrespect to probably even most of the people there, but the white racist voter there's about as racist as it's going to get. If he can still pull 21 % of that vote that ain't bad.

2. Republicans crossed over to vote. So now we're talking about some really, really racist white people. Not all but again some. So you gotta figure you can push that up to what? 25-30% of the white Democratic vote. Not bad.

3. Mississippi's still 40% African American. Don't mean to be too forward but it is and it's still going to be in November. He has a better chance of pulling almost all of this than you think (heck people are already complaining oh no he's getting 90% of it). He can keep that.

Can't totally agree

So now the threshold is that she's getting support from hardcore Democratic constituiences but he's not? Umm, again with respect, since when aren't blacks a core Democratic constituency? (Or are we just not supposed to bring that group up other than to decry them for having the nerve to vote for a qualified candidate and against the campaign who's implicit message seems to be "we don't like you and don't need you"?)

Also suprising and interesting result for Obama

According to numbers shown on Fox News, Obama holds a solid 10 point lead over Hillary on who voters think is qualified to be "commander-in-chief," 53%-43%.

Since Hillary supporters have been beating Barack over the head with this one for weeks, with Hillary herself even going so far as to suggest he doesn't have the experience to be Commander-in-Chief (like her and John McCain) and hence should drop out, will she now quit?

And like we said it's only a 40% black state. Where did that other 13 % come from?

This has been her last refrain, experience and preparation on Day 1. She's went so far as to suggest it's why she should get the nomination. Is she going to quit now or should I wait?

Original article: Hillary's race against time

Wow we've gotta get Camille Paglia a t.v. show

Never seen female Hillary supporters this angry. I usually just avoid Paglia's stuff, I've heard she's really smart but really esoteric. I read this, figured, hey it's not that bad. She's no big Hillary fan.

Then I come here and see some of the responses. Seriously Obama people we gotta get her on t.v. I've never seen the Hillary supporters this angry before. This would make them look completely irrational.

Of course Andrew Sullivan's always argued the Hillary supporters are much worse and more dogmatic than the Obama supporters, and that they secretly know it which only feeds into their anger even more. Exhibit 1 (according to Sullivan): is this newfound refusal to even consider being Barack Obama's Vice President.

"So the candidate who has been in second place most of the race has supporters pickier than those of the candidate in first place. Entitlement, anyone? There is a great deal of anger toward Clinton among the Obama camp; but the contempt for Obama from the Clintonites is really something. "

Keep going Camille. You're doing something right.

Rome is burning

Does this remind anyone else of Nero playing the flute, dancing and singing while Rome burned?

He sounds like a real a**hole to me

I love the way rude people are not tolerated, until they produce anything even mildly representing a work of art at which point they're instantly transformed into "misunderstood geniuses." Someone who was once a jerk is now instantaneously deep and complicated. Complication is another word for having pulled one over on the world.

I kind of like the guy. At least he shoots from the hip, I'll give him that.
