Great idea, John. After all, gas tax comes back to the states to fix roads and bridges. We don't need no stinkin' roads or bridges. Let them all crumble, then we won't be able to drive our cars. That will fix the oil crisis once and for all.
Don't forget that over 60 million people voted for Bush -- twice. Albert Einstein said, "The difference between genius and stupidity is -- genius has its limits." American voters have proved that time and time again, and repeatedly vote against their own best interests. Unfortunately, they also get their news from Fox network, not from Salon.
What revelation? When our media is run by people like Rupert Murdock. Disney owns ABC -- and they weren't a liberal organization last time I checked. Neither is Ted Turner (CNN). And I don't think GE (who owns NBC) will jeopardize their lucrative government contracts by taking on the Bush administration. So why would anyone be surprised at this when the major news media are controlled by right-leaning corporate interests?
I had a glimmer of hope for Web 2.0 viral entities like StumbleUpon, YouTube, and Digg, but the corporate monsters have their eye on them too.
The Swift Boaters should have been all over Bush in 2000 and 2004 and his dismal military record. They are obviously just another bunch of neocons with nothing of value to contribute to the political process. If people like that keep driving our political process we'll all pay the price and may well have to endure McCain and his 100 year war philosophy. I believe in United We Stand -- Divided We Fall, and I'm against all those who try to divide us with their narrow-minded wedge views and tactics. I don't know why so many ignorant people continue to drag the country down, but I do know that it's easier to take the low road. People that go that route show their true colors and they're not red, white and blue.
I'm all for it, provided we take all the people that think like that, put them in a uniform and stick them on the ground at the front of the troops. If I remember my history, great leaders and generals like George Washington were on the ground at the FRONT of the lines, not hiding like a bunch of cowards several thousand miles away.
Talk is cheap. All the hawks should put their ass on the line. That includes our Commander in Chief and half the US Congress that have been supporting this huge obscenity for the last 5 years. It's easy to talk big and send other people to do your dirty work. I wonder how fast this would all come to an end if we put these big-mouthed idiots on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan?
The Dems just need to bite the bullet and fight fire with fire. They can't tell the American voters who they really stand for or what their agenda really is. They have to play the GOP game = say and do whatever it takes to get elected. Then once they get elected they can do what is really needed. But they can't just come out and play fair and be honest up front. They have to quit being naive and start playing to win.
The Republicans have carried forward on nothing they have promised in the last 30+ years, with the single exception of cutting taxes -- for the rich. They've promised all sorts of things, and followed through on none of them, except some warped bizarro-world version like No Child Left Behind (where every child was left behind). This is clear proof that what they do and who they are is not the issue, especially when the voters have the attention span of a gnat.
If I were running the Dem party I'd be running a nasty bloody battle with the sole purpose of winning. Once in charge I'd clean up the effing mess the Republicans have made of things. But you have to be in charge to get your way. A simple majority is not enough. You've got to stack the deck in all 3 branches of government, which the Republicans have been doing for decades.
Queen of Denial
Can't believe a thing he says or trust what he will do. He'll obviously say whatever the focus groups and polls show neocons want to hear. What will he do if elected? He'll just be another George Bush and do whatever he wants. Bush has hired a private army called Blackwater completely outside of the law and turned them loose on American citizens after Katrina. McCain will inherit all of the illegal and unconstitutional BS Bush has created. 2008 may be our last chance to save our Democracy.
Huckelberry shows his true disgusting colors in front of a massive crowd of bigoted idiots no less. The NRA used to stand for something good. Those days are long gone.
Latest statistics released just a few weeks ago report that kids taught abstinence have sky-high STD rates when they do start having sex, because they've never been taught a damn thing about safe sex. Will the morons ever learn? -- education works best, in all cases, and for everything.
Besides that, virgin brides are a totally male-ego-centric concept. I can't believe women go along with such idiocy.
