Here is what the Bible has to say about them:
[Read the article: Let us prey]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.'
Matt.6
[5]And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[6] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Matthew 6
[7] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mark.12
38] And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
[39] And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
[40] Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
Luke18
10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
[11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
[12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
[13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
[14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 20
[46] Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
[47] Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

Bring back the family business!
[Read the article: At home with David Brooks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As an armchair activist and decision maker, I've decided the solution to all of these problems is to bring back the small family business, the mom-and-pop shop.
In this idyllic situation, we are mostly middle class, running a small business downstairs, and living above it. The kids can run around in the store or office, or they can go upstairs, where mom can pop in and supervise them sometimes. Mom and pop work downstairs, or in an annex.
Some people live this utopian dream, with at-home offices. I'm not talking about the people who stay at home, isolated and alone on their computer all day, I'm talking about the doctors and dentists whose office is in their house, or the corner-store owners who live in the office above the shop.
It just seems like the ideal. Mom doesn't give up her career, which is the same as Pop's, they work together.

... And maybe
[Read the article: At home with David Brooks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here].... women are opting out because they CAN. I mean, for most people, work SUCKS... how many people REALLY love their jobs? Wouldn't most people rather be independantly wealthy and not have to work? Don't most people, men AND women, have hobbies they love to do that don't pay? I'm guessing most people would quit their jobs and stay at home if they could, sadly for men, they usually don't have that choice.

I think it sounds beautiful
[Read the article: Inside the Creation Museum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I love mythology. I want to go see this museum someday. Mythology is cool. I wish there were more museums for different religions, and I could go look at dioramas of their myths.

Too expensive
[Read the article: Curtains for musical comedy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Musicals are too expensive for anyone but the elite to see them in a venue other than a community theatre. So fluffy musicals for the masses are going to step aside for the shows that appeal more to the elite.

Why Mary Poppins?
[Read the article: The other mothers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why do people always compare the perfect nanny to Mary Poppins? It's been a while since I've read the books, but wasn't she a bit of a bitch? A bitch with magical powers, true, but wasn't she sarcastic and mean?

Because he isn't serious
[Read the article: Why won't my boyfriend introduce me to his daughters?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If he were serious, he would want you to meet his family and integrate you into his life. He would take you to Cary's fictional lake house. He isn't, so we can conclude he isn't serious, and he is just having fun.
If just having fun is enough for you, stick it out. If not, move on.
