Uh...

There is no one more blind as those that refuse to see. (Works better)

And Mark Twain said: Those who don't read have no advantage over those who can't. It works for thinking too.

Some people just don't realize what a screaming joke they are and some people wouldn't realize a screaming joke if it sat on their lap...

My rep is...

My rep is Dave Camp. He's a republican tool and hates the EPA and the Michigan DEQ but loves his Dow Chemical stock and his Dow retirement fund (blind trust my ass).

He'd be right there with his tail wagging voting to bomb New Jersey if some republican put up a bill to do it. Talking to him or his office is a waste of time. He's destined to be Slim Picken's riding that nuke down to the ground (somewhere in New Jersey). If I got the truth I'd probably die on the spot of shock.

It's almost the same thing with the Michigan republican party. They ritually ignore constituent emails and phone calls. When they get the idea to sell the Great Lakes to Nestle you would think that the very hand of God reached down with a stone tablet carved with instructions and everything. And I've been accused by some of them for having an 'agenda' and being 'too partisan' and 'ridiculous'. Uh huh...

Dave Camp. "Karl Rove is a personal friend." "Jack (abram)Off is a personal friend."

Lying sack of ...

"You say you are a patriot, I think you are a crock of shit..."

What?

There is not a person here who fails to recognize that our worst fear – the threat of a nuclear, chemical, or biological attack on the American homeland – would warrant extraordinary action on the part of our government to detect and disrupt it.

And yet the biggest places that *could* be attacked (or through negligence allowed to cause damage and death) are the chemical plants.

Well, hands off them. Forcing them to increase their security would be 'un-American' and 'anti-business' and a 'needless burden' for them.

Sure. You don't live near one...

Sorry but that bit hit me in the chest...

Exactly...

So, are we less safe? Are we any worse for the wear because of the war on terror? I'd say yes to both questions.

If you look back on the 'war on terra', the purpose of the war becomes crystal clear.

It's not about getting Osama, it's not about killing the Taliban.

It's about showing who's boss with the side benefit being filling the coffers of the 'military industrial complex'.

It was only peripherally about Osama. He and Saddam were the excuses, the bait for the dimwits in this country. The embedding was payment for the positive PR. Scared people will give up anything to ‘feel’ safer and grasp (like a drunk grabbing a light pole) at anything that the perpetrators of this mess throw out to keep their fear under control.

To the planners of this bender, it's all been a game. Tell the people what they don't want to hear and scare the shit out of them and you get away with more and more... It's really that easy. I'm surprised that these dimwit ‘fraidy cats aren't shooting and beating anti-war protesters yet. WE COULD LOSE A CITY DAMMIT. BUSH IS A GREAT AMERICAN! HE'S GOING TO SAVE US LIKE MOSES IN THE DESSERT! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND PASS THE AMMUNITION!!!

What troubles me more.

What troubles me more is that John Yoo is a professor at a law school and not the fake, bottom rung 'christian' law school that hatched so many authoritarian freaks in the Bush justice department (unless I don't remember clearly).

What kind of lesson can students learn from such a stilted and bizarre man that would use smantecs and obfuscation to build and sustain a case. Especially when everyone knows that it's completely false.

Yoo is damaged goods and anything he touches should be suspect.

To emply him in the education of other attorneys is just wrong.

Original article: The company we keep

Imitation...

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery...

In 2001, the U.S. State Department issued a truly amazing report on Russian human rights abusees, complaining that Russian "authorities continued to infringe on citizens' privacy rights."

-

There were accounts of electronic surveillance by government officials and others without judicial permission, and of entry into residences and other premises by Moscow law enforcement without warrants. There were no reports of government action against officials who violated these safeguards.

Obviously having no shame or dislike of hypocrisy is needed in the Bush administration...

I wonder...

I wonder what the telecoms picked up in their 'drag net' and are they able to use whatever they 'picked up' against those that want to deny them immunity.

I'd say a) quite a bit and b) wouldn't that be in keeping with this moral and ethical bankrupt administration.

What could they have on Hoyer to cause him to be so scared? Vegisexual? Transgender? Hookergate? Pagegate? Bushist mutual-masterbate?

Hell, if we knew that they could be bought out for the small amounts we're talking about, then I'm sure that we'd have a much better experience dealing with them, just buy them. They appear to stay bought...

I stood right at that spot!

I'd also prefer it if it had been your head on the block rather than Anne Boleyn's on 19 May 1536, but we can't have everything can we?

Hey, don't Bush and Cheney support capital punishment? Hoping ain't seeing but still...

Original article: A "September 10th mindset"

But the problem is...

But the problem is that the wimps that watch Fox News are geeked by the idea of America torturing terrorists. To get bogged down in the definition of 'terrorist' and their eyes glaze over and they lose their attention...

America is on crack and you have to appeal to the crack addicts on their level to get your message across...

Unfortunately, honor and dignity are tough sells to the people that back Bush and what's happened to this country.
