It's sad to think that this legislation could be one 'signing statement' away from being meaningless...
What's strange is that no comment here mentions 'public transportation'.
Hey, rather than run these regional jets for handfuls of people, why not have a fast rail or monorail or even maglev train system to shuttle these relatively small hordes of people from one airport to another. In Michigan, take the trip from FNT to DTW. (Please!!!) You waste so much time to get through security to get on the darn plane. Sit there and wait for take off, Climb out, level off and go into a descent into DTW. You spend more time getting on the plane and waiting for take off then you do actually in flight! HELLO!!! It would be easy to have a light rail system to take folks directly from the FNT terminal to the DTW terminal...
Obviously the run from TVC to DTW would take too long via rail but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the American 'god given right' to 2.3 cars at the expense of usable, low carbon loading public transportation is literally killing us and the planet...
Also to follow up on an email that I sent, Patrick, is the increased flight counts also trying to squeeze out general aviation? Also, with over worked and under paid ATC employees, is it a matter of time before something bad happens? I realize that there are federal budget concerns but is it right to cut and gut programs that protect Americans so that there is more money to be wasted in Iraq? Just a question... I'd feel horrible finding out that a crash was caused because the lone ATC worker was working an area that used to be run by three people and because of 'budget cuts', they were severely overworked... Can America spend like a drunken sailor and not feel the pain in other areas?
'How to raise children that hate you, and for a good reason'
I certainly hope that the last lines of this awful rant mean that you were pulling our leg.
My wife and I decided not to have children early on. I find myself regreting that in some small ways.
the last time we were at that hell hole in FLorida (Disney World) I watched as an exhausted father reacted to his enthralled son... It wasn't quite what I'd call ideal... But the look in the son's eyes was like nothing I've seen before...
Wonderment, awe, giddy surprise... I felt bad for both... I didn't feel so tired afterward... Life is to be shared... Children are to be loved and supported and yes, even tolerated...
They are likely to be the only thing that will survive you and carry on your legacy... You decide what it is: hate or love...
Unless I get a second wife, I see my dotterage being filled with lonely times and listening to stories of other old farts talking about their children calling for advice or to talk...
Love your children for who they are... Be glad that you have them. Cherish the moments that you have with them... I can't...
Bush isn't a 'detail man' the way a hyperactive 10-year old isn't likely to sit still for anything except more caffeine and sugar.
Cheney is the 'detail guy' who's jaundiced eye rooms across the landscape like the wandering eye of Sauron, spreading filth and petulance to those that don't adhere to the dogmatic 'power as religion' beliefs of he and his minions.
Bush is apparently blind to what goes on and appears to be 'trainable' in his agenda to stay ontop the charging horse being driven relentlessly by Cheney's wicked and unforgiving whip.
Bush is likely viewed as 'expendable' to the real power underneath the grounds of the Naval Museum.
Any more news on the construction under and in the Naval Museum grounds?
I'm curious of what you think of the whole 'controllers at DFW are fudging their numbers' flap earlier this week...
It seems odd to me that the Bush administration, that wants to privatize the jobs of said controllers is making a stink about this now... Seems too convenient, to 'Bushian'... Are they looking for any opportunity to kill the ATC union?
The idea of Halliburton or KBR running our nations ATC system makes me want to never fly again, and not live near a major airport either... I've heard rumours that the average control tower and air route control center is being forced to operate with fewer controllers on duty too...
Comments?
A friend of my wife's got married. She never moved in with her husband. Never slept with him, for all we know. They were 'married' for just under a year... They finally 'divorced'...
She married again, and all is well... She actually moved in, had several kids...
Why mention that? The first 'husband' had enough sense to bail... (It took him a LONG time, but he eventually did)
Divorcing and keeping custody of the daughter seems your only out.
She *might* get a clue that the grass she is married to is where she belongs and not grazing on other patches of turf...
One other alternative: Expose the affair through a well trusted third party. Play the 'shocked' husband. Grind this 'John' into the rocks... Play the grieving husband trying to 'save our marriage' and John 'stepped in to try to sweep her out of what you were trying to save'...
It would shame her, hopefully, and stop 'John' and provide a local 'scarlet letter' on the forehead of your 'wife'...
You could also loose her, but you have already done that in so many ways that it's hardly a loss...
The bottom line has to be 'Can I trust her' and the answer is staring you in the face...
