DVT...

One only has to look at the character of Mr. Cheny and his many health issues and realize that a man that has had that many heart attacks and other major health issues and now had a DVT problem isn't healthy enough to be Vice President of anything other than the Spanky McFarland Fan Club...

I'd also like to point out that he has probably had a few strokes and that would explain his major bad mood that only seems to have gotten worse in the past 4 or so years. A stroke can also explain his reality disassociation illness that has a relentless grip on his addled brain...

Cheney is sick. Only a PET and CT scan can show the extent of his brain damage.

I don't think there is a question in my mind that Dick Cheney should not be anywhere near the button for thermonuclear war... He has nothing to lose...

Original article: Class war and credit snobs

Class warfare? Relax, it's all good...

This article just hit me the wrong way: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/SuperModels/TheSuperRichAreDoingYouAFavor.aspx?GT1=9313

The 'working poor' should relax because the 'superrich' will 'save the day' with their extravagant purchases and if you're very lucky you lower class people can even make money off them...

Crass? Hubristic? Nasty?

Depending on the 'superrich' to keep the economy afloat has been the biggest problem I see with Bush's officially unofficial economic policy. What stops the 'superrich' from buying their goods and 'golden toilets' in Europe? Nothing... What encourages the 'superrich' to accrete their worldly possessions in America? Nothing... People with such contempt for paying taxes to support this country owe no loyalty to it.

It also is totally ignorant of the fact that now most of those 'goodies' that the rich seek are not manufactured in America. Not a small point to miss...

The picture that I drew, partially due to the picture with the article, is of the poor groveling at the feet of Paris Hilton for change... America isn't a third world, yet but the decline has been quick and breathtaking... All hail the superrich... The plutocracy is here to stay it seems...

Free speech?

There is a cost for what you say. Free speech doesn't mean that there isn't a price to be paid for what you say...

One thing that has changed and not for the better is the shear amount if inflammatory and slanderous rhetoric that is being thrown around with abandon on both radio and teevee...

ALL of the talk show (both teevee and radidio) hosts need to be taught that what they say HAS A COST and isn't 'free'...

I continue to cringe at the illogical depiction of gun use on teevee and movies... What you say can have the effect of a bullet...

Hah...

Kerry's 'tooth and nail' fights seem to have a history of being short lived...

Nothing to see here, move along... Move along...

I still see him as a coward for not attacking the many and wide spread voting 'issues' in the '04 election... Both he and pretty-boy Edwards rolled over quickly after saying they would fight...

Sorry, John F Kerry... Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and uh, uh, you can't be fooled again...

Original article: Abortion news roundup

Michigan proposed law...

Michigan sillyness...

Bill would boost reporting of abortion complications

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

By Tim Martin

The Associated Press

LANSING -- A state lawmaker said Tuesday he believes doctors and clinics underreport the number of health complications from abortions in Michigan.

Rep. Kevin Green, R-Wyoming, has introduced a bill that would allow anyone with knowledge of an abortion complication to report it to the state Department of Community Health.

A Michigan law requires doctors to report when a complication arises from an abortion. But Green said based on statistics, he doesn't believe all doctors, hospitals and clinics are obeying that law.

Green said there is a "sad and serious enforcement problem" with the law.

Department of Community Health records indicate there were five immediate complications and nine subsequent complications reported from 25,209 abortions in 2005.

In 2004, there were 13 immediate complications and 12 subsequent complications reported from 26,269 abortions.

In a memo to House lawmakers, Green said that if those statistics were accurate, "abortion would be among the safest medical procedures performed each day. This simply cannot be true."

He cited a 2004 case in which a Michigan woman died as a result of an abortion complication. Green said her death was not reflected in the abortion complication report for that year.

The bill would include penalties for people who file false reports about abortion complications.

T.J. Bucholz, a spokesman for the Department of Community Health, said his department will review the bill.

"We don't fabricate statistics on abortion," he said.

Rep. Rebekah Warren, D-Ann Arbor, who previously was executive director of MARAL Pro-Choice Michigan, said first trimester abortions may have fewer complications than a dose of penicillin or a tonsillectomy.

Warren said she is concerned about possible implications of the bill.

"We have a law in place that requires physicians to report this information, and they do report this information," Warren said. "It makes me nervous to start witch hunts in our doctors' offices."

I guess it's interesting that the bill contains protections against false reports but I wonder if it would work both ways. Would those that seek to artificially boost the numbers through false reports also feel the wrath of this 'legislation'?

Isn't incest a crime?

An interesting thought...

By having a bent to keep anything alive and treat all fetuses as sacred, are we polluting the gene pool?

We, humans, are capable to defying natures intent of the laws of evolution by treating abnormalities that would kill the offspring. Are we doing humanity in the long run a favor by requiring that ALL fetuses be born and ALL medical tricks be used to 'save' the child from death?

It's an interesting question, I think...

What are the ramifications of birthing 'genetic trash' for lack of a better word... Does that explain some of the problems faced by humanity now?
