It's interesting that someone on CNN describing the average catholic Pennsylvanian voter described them as poor, uneducated and illogical and that is the base that Bush rode into office on. They provided 'human shields' to cover his real losses in both elections. They are pawns in the game...
They are pawns and willing pawns at that.
Hate the gays (but don't round them up, they're a vital voting block), hate the Darwinists (but don't piss them off too much because they are a vital voting block), hate the tree-huggers (but don't piss them off too much, they are a vital voting block).
All to provide cover in case the GOP1 needs it.
With the GOP owning the media machine, they are far from imploding. Maybe stressing out at the seams, but far from imploding.
IF Hillary rises out of the rubble of this election cycle, she will fall like a deflated balloon and McSame will be ringleader of the republican circus.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and I'm a republican...
And pigs fly and donkey's talk.
Brown, et all will continue to find work and will spawn many disciples that will continue their heinous dirty deeds in the future. There is much to be lost if the republicans lose their office squatting...
Think of the corporations that will lose money having to comply with actual rules and legislation and not the 'voluntary' crap that Bush passes off as 'meaningful'...
Republicans live in and fight from the sewer because it works.
But Obama is 'black'.
They can't come out and actually say that but they can smear him with every piece of filth they can manufacture. They are above 'He spits on sidewalks.' but that's about all that they won't say against him.
Bush's 'War on Terraâ„¢' has always been a 'do as I say, not as I do' exercise in hypocrisy. The very fact that scion of the bin Laden family, a longtime Bush family friend and business partner, Osama bin Laden still draws breath is the most visual example of his 'selective enforcement' in this 'war'. Ironically paying Pakistan BILLIONS of dollars over the past few years could be seen as money to keep Osama safe.
Calling it the 'war on reason' or some such would be far better. Maybe a more accurate name would be 'The War On America' because after 9.11.2001, Bush has accomplished more than Osama and his faction could have ever believed possible. America is stretched thin, to the breaking point. We are broke, destitute, despised, feared and hated. Bush has turned The United States into a pariah what with his swagger and horrible diction. Like every bully, he just doesn't (or does) get the clue.
His version of 'diplomacy' involves his fake cowboy routine, his 'aww shucks' act, his 'certain look in the eye, an easy smile' and a truncheon. The world breathes a sigh of relief that he and Dick Cheney are leaving the leadership of America, but I'm sure are fearful of the talk that McCain could be worse.
But Bush doesn't just surround himself with violent terrorists. (Although a look at most of the 'Coalition of the Willing' reads like a who's who of despotic, brutal nations) He coddles economic terrorists as well. It's as if the Bush family has bought 'The Fletcher Memorial Home' and constructed the 'Bush wing' to little fanfare.
That he is so highly revered by so many in corporate America is just recognition of the vast achievements that he has bestowed at their door. That he is still revered by his party in Congress is just courtesy for providing them with so many years of unfettered brutal rule. That he is so revered by so many Americans is in recognition of what the media has done to support him and his administration.
Yes, altogether now: 'Bush is a fraud'. Now if only the media 'watch dogs' would put their teeth back in and get off the stoop and start growling at the people INSIDE the house...
the most politically manipulated term in the english language is "racist."
How about 'anti-semitic' too?
In a time in our nation when fear rules, they have to keep the people afraid.
Fearful people are less observant of the other, often more pressing things, that are happening around them.
Bush ok's torture, the world hates the Bushist America, McCain flip-flops like a dying fish, Clinton can't win (in 2008 at least), Osama won't be found, Iran doesn't have nukes, Israel government wants to nuke the Palestinians, Cheney wants to attack Iran with a biblical passion. All things that have to be kept quiet.
I just worry about the pressures on the airlines to make a profit and cut costs. I think I'll be driving a lot more now and not because of fuel loads.
Ironic that 'Shattered Glass' was playing on the IFC Channel while I was working out this morning...
How much of the 'news' and what oozes out of the Bushist blight house is 'Glass-ian' in nature? 95%? 98%? 99.9999%
Steve Glass doesn't work for Bush or Cheney does he?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me over and over again, I'm a republican...
You should be all over this one, Glenn:
The revelation of the existence of the documents comes at a time when Congress is bracing for what is expected to be a grueling summer long debate over the surveillance measure. Administration officials say that unless Congress acts by this summer, existing court orders permitting surveillance of suspected overseas terrorists will expire, threatening the U.S. government's ability to keep track of potential plots against the homeland. If new legislation is not enacted before the current stop-gap law expires, Republicans may try to use this as an election issue against Democrats.
