I was...

I was at a meeting where one of our local pompous politicians stood up and made a statement that couldn't be backed with fact on any planet or any alternate dimension. I corrected him. The gasps that I heard. The shocked looks I got.

How dare me, a normal 'human' dare correct a man who runs the local government. How dare me.

I got dirty looks from many people as I was walking out. I had a friend tell me that I was too hard on the guy. I pointed out that he said it and that I didn't call hum stupid or use any profanity in correcting him and stating the facts. Even the state scientists totally agreed with what I said but you see I had the impudence, the tactless gall to even correct him even though many people in the room KNEW HE WAS WRONG too!

And I was the bad guy. He packed his stuff up and left immediately after the meeting adjourned and somehow it was MY FAULT that he took a ridiculous pro-business lie and tried to pass it off as truth. It wasn't me that made him look like a fool. If he hadn't stood up and opened his mouth and said what he said then he wouldn't have been corrected by me.

I mean, I'm sorry but America doesn't have a ruling caste that you can't point out their idiocy too. A ruling caste that no mere mortal should dare to correct or confront. Do we?

Well, who the hell appointed them Gods?

My closer friends that were there said that I rocked but that the politician in question spent the rest of the meeting in silence and hurried out after it ended. HAH!!! Whatever happened to a 'representative' government?

Interesting question...

How irrational does someone have to be to continue to fear pitiful, discredited GOP attacks like this?

That's what I've been wondering.

To be afraid of a sitting president that polls worse than brussel sprouts is just bizarre... To take the abuse of the GOP and their grade school attacks is another...

How many...

How many of these three US Attorneys are Rove hand picked 'Loyal Bushie Guaranteed' replacements I wonder.

Isn't this like calling someone for 'traveling' at an NBA game?

Heck, I've probably violated the Mann Act hundreds of times in my youth with girlfriends. It's like a tollbooth in the middle of the desert or spitting on the sidewalk. A nuisance law, a speed trap. I remember in some town it's illegal to shower with your clothes on. Kinda like that...

But still, rather shocking but then I though he did better work as attorney general and wondered what made him decide to run as governor.

Interesting...

If all this involved was two consenting adults I would agree with you but it doesn't. Spitzer is married. So, when he decides to have sex with prostitutes he is potentially endangering the health( and even life) of an unconsenting adult, his wife.I realize that there are probably precautions taken to prevent the spread of STD's but in the heat of the highly-paid moment, accidents happen. Now, his wife has to get tested for AIDS and other STD's and even if the tests are negative, for THE REST OF HER LIFE she will have to worry about some disease related to Spitzer's whoring affecting her.So this isn't like pornography, it's more akin to a life sentence of nagging worry for Mrs. Spitzer. I read your column because you seem very intelligent, insightful and caring about the rights of others. But I thought the same thing about Eliot Spitzer.

Suddenly the screaching monkeys are concerned for his wife? What will it be next? Was anyone concerned about Vitters wife? Well, no. He's a republican and asked God for forgiveness and that closes the door on the incident.

This sounds like an incident in my home town. Dow chemical recklessly dumped millions of gallons of dioxin and other toxins in the river that runs near my house. They have gone through just about every delaying tactic that they can from lobbyists to politicians and local astroturf groups.

Now what is their tactic? Be prepared...

'Think of the trees.'

Well, hell, yes. Cleaning up this hideous mess is going to result in the uprooting and destruction of many trees...

Well to Dow I say: What about the people that played on and under those trees and to the screeching monkeys so incensed over Spitzer's extra curricular activities I have to say that in this time of many MANY sense less crimes by the government of this country, getting so pissed off over his issue just doesn't make sense... Get Vitter to quit. Get Craig to quit. What the hell do their wives have to worry about? Especially Craigs! Trolling in airport mens rooms is less troubling than hiring top dollar hookers? Since when?

The hypocrisy is so God damn thick in this country that I'm surprised we all can see the sun in the morning and draw a breath through it! Is it wrong to hire hookers? Is it wrong to get sex in an MSP men's room by random travelers? Is it wrong to have prostitutes 'service' you in LA? Is it wrong to violate the constitution? Is it wrong to openly steal elections? Is it wrong to start a war on complete lies and then stand by and watch the money pour out of the treasury, bankrupting the nation?

People need to get a life and re-evaluate what is going on.

I still wonder if Spitzer was the result of a Loyal Bushie US Attorney witch hunt... I expect more. I'm sure that they are burning the midnight oil looking for anything they can use to slime the democrats and steal yet another election...

Worried about his wife... GROW THE HELL UP and be worried about this damn country!!!
