What do you expect, elephantman? 'Our' leader trumped up a box of lies and invaded their country (Iraq) for no other reason than he could.

I'd be pissed too if Canada invaded (although they'd probably be here to actually rescue us from Bushist rule so it would be different. I'd welcome them as long as they had a plan to leave. If they stayed I'd be pissed too)

On to the earlier 'Bush is good at keeping us safe' argument: I had a similar argument with a wide eyed funda-mental-ist friend. 'God has done a great job at keeping the planet safe. He wouldn't wreck his creation.' Well, look at how many asteroid/comet collisions on planets other than the Sun (which isn't a planet) and you have 1 that broke up and hit Jupiter. Oh, but look at the destructive force that only one of the pieces had on that planet. It would only take one hit to destroy life as we know it. The fact that it hasn't happened yet is due to the vastness of space and the sizes of the planets and the asteroid/comets not because some mysterious force blocks them. It can happen here.

Oh, and trust the Bushist junta? Well I can name a person that would probably like to rethink that. Who was instrumental in the murder of Bhutto? Would you believe the US State Department? According to an article in 'The Week', the US State Department urged Bhutto to go back to Pakistan. When she inquired about security she was assured that she didn't need much because Musharif(sp) would be 'stupid' to kill you or attack you.

Also research Orlando Bosch. His craft is blowing up air planes (odd that one is rumoured to have possibly blown up on 9/11). Bush's daddy expended a lot of effort to get him a place in Florida. How long until there are Bushist death squads roaming this country?

They can listen in on our phone calls.

They can read our email messages.

They can get the list of our internet searches.

They can search our notebook computers.

They can search our cell phones

They can read our text messages.

They can enter our homes without warrants.

They can monitor our bank accounts.

They can monitor our credit cards.

They can put whatever they want on the 'news' shows.

They can count on a very solid bunch of democrats to join the stampede to pass any legislation that they want.

We can't find out who exposed a CIA agent.

We can't find out who ordered the US Attorney's fired.

We can't get the truth on what happened in the lead up to the Iraq war.

We can't get impeachment started let alone talked about.

We can't believe anythig that comes out of that administration.

Oh, and we can't get an investigation on the 'missing' emails and use of an RNC email server to run national business.

There are so many clear and glaring violations of so many laws that the idea that any politician would stand for anything that this administration would want should be criminal at the outset.

There are NO protections from the Bushist junta. NONE AT ALL!

Congratulations. There isn't much farther to fall except for open violence.

What's next? US troops patrolling the streets? Heil Bush!

I just find myself living in a nightmare world that I wish I could wake from and ind it all was indeed a dream but I wake to visions of gulags and military troops (Gods militia?) on street corners.

Maybe America has been to smug in thinking that it can't happen here. But it is. It also won't stop here. But much more was lost, as some pointed out, back in 2000. This is only the result.
