Or when we live down to them...

He has a deep history with it and fundamentally believes that we decrease our standing in the world when we don't live up to our values. And when that happens we weaken our national security.

Or in the case of the 'Loyal Bushies', the GOP and the 'democrat' enablers: when we live DOWN to them...

I'm concerned that my 2 'democrat' senators voted for cloture.

I've asked them both to explain their votes and am not holding my breath for an answer.

Isn't there a new site that gives info on how much money a congressperson has been vacuuming up from lobbying groups?

I know Levin is big with Israel and Stabenow is just big. It might be worth a visit with them over the break...

Is the senate in session over the christmas break too like the thanksgiving break?

It's interesting...

It's interesting that everybody shuns Lieberman and yet the selected Reid to be 'leader'.

Was he a Manchurian candidate or was he living in the open and people should have known what they were getting at the start. Was he part of a 'deal' with the republicans to get someone who they could play patty-cake with and 'work' with.

To say that the sitting democrats are out of touch with their citizen constituents is an understatement. What they need to do to get control, or at least the attention of those legislators is the real next question.

And one has to wonder about how far Paul would push his pro-life stand. Would he support jailing doctors who do them, would he jail people that cause them, would he jail women that seek them. He has some bizarre ideas. Would his treatment of those people just mentioned be part of his bizarreness or his sanity.

Well...

Like Forrest Gump said: Stupid is as stupid does.

I met my wife when she was 16. We had the common sense to use birth control.

You can't stop kids having sex but you can stop them from recklessly reproducing and ruining their lives (and careers).

The Spears family is a sideshow on our society. Get your popcorn and your beer and sit on the car seat on the porch and watch the fun...

You have to be careful...

You have to be careful that you don't look like the frightened masses that cling to a warped view of their own neurotic superstitions and back the arguments of those that would seek to chisel the 'naughty parts' off all the statues and with Sharpies and Marks-a-lots free society from their own perverse fixation on works of art that display 'naughty bits' and tug at their deep seated perversions.

I can look at that photo spread and not get my jollies.

A society that would look at that and declare it heinous and criminal is devoid of appreciation of the human form.

Shame on you for making this out to be a disgusting pornographic display. If anything, I'd expect the consternation to be leveled at the waif-ness of the subject and her looking like she was just freed from Auschwitz than that her boob was seen heavily disguised by the fog of the ephemeral state all faeries inhabit.

Don't do the work of those that seek to put all women in Burqa's...

A brief tangent about Harry Reid.

I found this in the old news section off MSN.

He totally ignores HIS role in insuring the GOP reign of terror over Democrats...

Reid: GOP stymied Democratic efforts

Senate majority leader ‘frustrated by the direction of the country’

The Associated Press

updated 7:34 p.m. ET, Sat., Dec. 22, 2007

WASHINGTON - Congressional Democrats accomplished important goals this year but they need more cooperation from Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Saturday.

The Democratic majorities in the House and Senate cut middle-class taxes, raised the minimum wage and took other steps to help working families, Reid said in the Democrats' weekly radio address.

Democrats tried to do more, but President Bush and his GOP allies in Congress thwarted them while siding with tobacco firms and "big oil companies," said Reid, D-Nev.

"Time after time, when Democrats have fought for change, President Bush and Republicans in Congress have stood in the way," he said. "Like you, I am frustrated by the direction of our country."

Reid's comments reflected party leaders' recent decision to temper their boasts about congressional accomplishments with admissions that Republicans have used their veto and filibuster powers to block or weaken many Democratic initiatives.

Democrats in Congress tried to improve pay and equipment for troops in Iraq, Reid said. "But because of President Bush," he said, "they remain in Iraq without a clear mission or endgame, and our Armed Forces are stretched to a breaking point.

"And we took steps to secure our country from terrorism, but Bin Laden remains free, al-Qaida is growing stronger and the president's focus on Iraq has allowed conditions in Afghanistan to deteriorate," Reid said.

Despite Congress' efforts to help American families, he said, "a possible recession still looms and millions may still lose their homes to foreclosure."

No one is more blind than those that refuse to see? He is just as much a failure as the democrat agenda is. He acts like failing is good.

Could it be...

I haven't read all the posts here so if this has been said before...

The establishment GOP fear Huckabee not only because he is 'religious' in the way they are deceitful but he is also the 'white trash', 'hill-billy' relative that they don't want to acknowledge. The one that is a total embarrassment to them. The relative that always shows up at the family reunion because some other relative invites them.

It's going to be interesting watching the establishment (Bushist branch of the GOP tries to dismantle the hopes of Huckabee.

BUT, he might turn a deal with the GOP and become BFF of those that dislike him now. Lever count a lying republican out...
