Checked out Cuil

It obviously sucks, dorky name and web search on my own name came up with nothing! Right at the top with Google. How can you beat that?

I respectfully disagree.

It is a religious war, fully acknowledged and acted on by the Republican side, but not the Democrats. It is why the Democratic response seem so lame all the time.

Real vampires

Watching "Let the Right One In" ruined this show for me.

Original article: Did I just buy an SUV?

Had you considered maintenance?

Just glossed over the maintenance issue there. I have a 20 year old car, it takes about $1500 a year to properly maintain based upon long term data for that model car. We have almost 200,000 miles on it, and expect it to last another 200,000. A Volvo should be capable of being a long term, maintainable platform. Sounds like the car got ditched because delayed maintenance caught up to you.

My other car is an SUV, a Trooper, not a crossover. I am guessing I use less gas than most of the commuters that are posting here.

To Do

My staff and I are heavy into Mac to manage my office and produce projects. Over the years I have tried a lot of these apps and I always return to writing tasks on notepads, crossing them out when done, and periodically rewriting them.

The tactile connection and the slower pace of writing is an invaluable aid for assessing the work at hand and the priorities. In addition, it should be noted that there is no real substitute for motivation in getting tasks accomplished. As a matter of fact, highly organized computer based organizational programs can a distraction and a substitute for substantive action.

For real project planning you really need to see tasks spread out in time and interconnected by priority and precedence. For that level of planning, there is no substitute for Primavera or even FastTrack.

Original article: Rubbers for the Pope!

Avoid waste

Send the Pope used condoms that are headed for the landfill/waste treatment plant anyway.

Original article: The great foreskin debate

A little more clarity might be in order.

Penile circumcision takes off the entire prepuce, completely changes the sensitivity of the penis, changes the appearance of the penis. How is this different than female circumcision? I don't think if it happened to me that I would really care what your intent had been.

You are changing the appearance and function of a person's sex organ irreversibly. How could you feel as guilty about this as about not circumcising?

What is the meaning of this writing?

"Putting the heat on" and "in trouble again" ? Does that really mean pricing pressure or competition that benefits consumers? Certainly the tone of the latter interpretation is very different.

Oh, I get it. Making stuff for a really high profit is being threatened.

I only hear it second hand

. . but my wife is actually appalled by the women in the locker room who are obsessive exercisers and also anorexic to the point where the anus hangs down between the non-existent buttocks.
