hey, great idea...let's drop all the name calling and get right to the issues:

let me repeat one of my complaints about the current administration, their level of competence. can you look at our fair crescent city, which our own mr rove was appointed by mr bush to oversee the reconstruction, and not be appalled? this is a level of incompetence unsurpassed by previous (back to 1865) administrations.

    care to resond?

  • oops!

sorry, don't want to be sidetracked by typos:

my last paragraph to @elephantman should have read "care to respond"

  • Who really represents us?

[Read the article: Who needs benchmarks when you can just miss deadlines?]

Congress is supposed to directly represent the American electorate, who overwhelmingly do not support this incompetent administration's power grabs. But do the elected members of congress even understand this simple fact? With their constant dithering, I think the answer is no.

Can we put each of them in a canvass sack, as was suggested be done to chimpya etc. in an earlier post? One voter, one whack sounds good to me...

scared? why be scared? if someone gets in my face, I don't run nor necessarily fight. I deal with the situation (unlike dubya not dealing with the 9/11 warnings). now you bushites like to run around being scared and figure the rest of should be too. had dubya not been such a chicken he may have dealt with the caliphate in the manner required, but then he would served in the military were that the case, eh.

    stay home and be scared

...are like me, I think. While not entirely trusting Hillary Clinton, I don't find a lot of negatives with her either. But, after Bush, Clinton, Bush, I am not ready to continue the pattern!

  • a sick dude

i worked on tour for ted nugent in the early eighties, and he is not as advertised. he is one sick, misogynist dude.

the roadies hated him as he had his guitar tech hand out "head passes" (after show only) to women in the crowd in order to stock the dressing room "with pretty ladies"...

...and this (General Whotsis) is the guy in charge of arming the Iraqis and said there wasn't time to account for which Iraqi's he was arming? Sheesh, why would anyone believe anything he said?

"...clash between culture and nature, seen from a height through the visionary power of art"

Wow. I sort of like Camille's ditsy meanderings but the song 8 Miles high is about a ride in a fucking Lear Jet. Only a proud member of academe could come up with the quote above.

As with Colin Powell, David Petreaus will feel what it's like to be a respected military man and do the the dubious bidding of the bush/cheney cabal. A good officer answers to the orders of rank, unfortunately for these gentlemen their ranking officers were non military men whose ideological and political agenda pushed our Military into a war based on lies that cannot be won.

Nothing based on a lie can be considered a positive...

War Crimes...drag these guys to the Hague...

Rather than buy the administration's line about what they are up to in Iraq, did you ever think that we who question the war and the policies set forth are not so different from you?

We are your neighbors, with kids who may get caught up in a future war based on lies and political expedience. This has nothing to do with like/dislike on of Bush on a personal level, these guys are doing none of us any favors. How about your cost of living

lately? How many bonuses have you gotten in the last 4 years? Do you think it may have to do with the money being pissed away and stolen in Iraq?

Anyone with an income under $100,000 that buys into the crap (war-on-terror, tax cuts for the rich, no energy policy save more expensive fuel) being fed us has bought into a policy designed to keep you poor/close to affording that new Cobalt.

Play the f**king lottery folks, it's your best bet.

what the Iraqi's should do is as has been done to mercenaries forever, put them against the wall and...

these are our tax dollars paying Bushthugs to kill in our name.

got to agree with tomhere regarding reagan as a polarizing force. remember his quote "if it takes a bloodbath, we'll give it to them"? these were college kids he was speaking of.

  • But conservatives don't conserve

[Read the article: Take it from me. Reform feels good]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

one of the great conundrums is that most conservatives do little to conserve and liberals shop at Goodwill. see, you buy the plastic bottle and fill it from the tap. again. and again.
