  • It's in the bloodlines

[Read the article: The all-time worst president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It should be noted that one of the consensus "worst ever", Franklin Pierce, is an ancestor (maternal)of the current occupant. In fact his nephew, Neal's son Pierce, is named for him.

  • Yes, we should...

...apologize to the Iraqi people. I, too, did not vote for these idiots and knew the war to be a mistake from jump street. Never the less, as an American I am as responsible as any right wing nit wit that still cheers on Dubya at his planned stump speeches. We cannot absolve our selves by blaming those responsible. As the press abdicated their responsibility, it would be wrong to follow their sheepish ways and say geez, I only believed what I was told. A day of apology would be a start at a National cleansing.

  • Heroes?

[Read the article: Iraq deadline quagmire]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I have to second the politically incorrect posts ascribing the members of our voluteer armed forces as heroes. As was said, many are good folks caught in a shitty economic climate with no better options. As many, however, are folks that could not find their collective asses with both hands and a GPS. I toured with rock bands for years (mostly heavy metal) and the worst gigs were invariably in military towns like Columbus, GA; Augusta, GA; Killeen, TX; Fayet-nam, NC; and the like. The worst of the worst were gigs on the first of the month, payday, when the punters had just enough cash to get really stupid. This was common knowledge and various precautions were taken.

When I find these same folks grouped as "heroes' with the rest of the military who are just working folks, I want to retch. No one becomes a ''hero" simply by putting on a uniform. Mission boy is the best example I can think of.

    War crimes anyone?

  • 30 % support Bush...

...and it has been shown over & over again in any poll if asked whether "you or anyone you know has had contact with aliens from another planet" 12% respond in the affirmative, no matter the question. Do the math q-bert & AJ and welcome to the club...

  • Piss on his grave

    ...will be the final farewell.

...so why did the Globe never report on Dubya's drunk driving when he was running?

If your 2 sentences are any indication do not continue to think you can write well. As far any needing the money more, how do you look in a short skirt?

  • Sheesh...

[Read the article: To the worker ants of science]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...you have to be pretty thin skinned to be offended by Garrison Keillor, I mean think about it. Every column gets someone complaining about his style, which is old timey but that's all it is is his style. I am a regular PHC listener and for the life of me can't recall any gen-X slurs, nor can my gen-X daughter. I really think you folks need to lighten up a bit. You know, take a walk under the elms...

  • What about the current prosecuters?

[Read the article: What Bush is hiding]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The fact that 8 out of 93 prosecuters were fired for not doing Rove's bidding surely indicates that those remaining did.

  • Press Corps is a joke

[Read the article: Rove, proven liar]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why didn't they laugh? probably the same reason they have not asked any meaningful questions of this administration (sorry Helen Thomas, but you get painted with the same brush as your colleagues) for the last six years. An immoral and probably illegal war, incompetent handling of a natural disaster, failing our vets, none of this was questioned. Word is they even know Dubya is drinking, but not a peep. They have become enablers without balls (sorry Helen).

  • What do you expect...

[Read the article: It's like "straight talk," only different]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...from a guy to unabashedly sucks up to someone who has just trashed his family. Gawd, to think I actually voted for this guy (2000 pres. primary). I am now going to walk off that short dock...

  • Not Funny

[Read the article: He's sorry now]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I agree with Stackey-Ackey about Imus' misogyny being the larger issue. Another point could be made that he really isn't very funny...

Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza, has started his own law school, Ave Maria. Can Mobil/Exxon Law be far behind?

...david, it does seem to be all about you. what difference does riverbend's socio-econ status have to do with anything? she writes eloquently from a war of our (all of us) creation. doesn't matter whether we love shrub & co or not, the facts are we invaded a nation that posed absolutely no threat to us and she is writing (i believe!!) from the heart about it. i am not sure, given your oblique critical angles, where you find offense here, but obviously you do.

you earlier inquired as to why no one was responding to your original pahlavi comparison, it most likely has to do with engaging in a pissing contest with a skunk. good night and get some rest, dude.

  • round 'em up

[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and ship their sorry asses to the Hague. Let's start with George from Queens, then grab Feith from his cushy professor job. Perle lives in France (a Repub in France?) so it's short trip for him. Rummy & Cheney & Wolfie get the next spot and let's let W. watch his pals go off and get convicted. Let him comtemplate not how history will judge his presidency, but which country's jail is he going to rot in.

If Milosovic is a war criminal, so are these guys.

Geez, that feels so much better...
