By their actions...
[Read the article: The Lawless Surveillance State]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... one should always point out that given powers over judicial appointments, what did bushco do? they appointed repugs to prosecute political oppponents, many times with no case what so ever, based only on the "let 'em deny it" metric. so we are to believe these powers of surveillance will only be used for good, against the "terrists". whew, we be dumb...
it has occurred to me since the comey/ashcroft revelations about the hospital visit by card et al, that maybe what they found so egerious was bush/rove spying on the kerry campaign, using "terrists" as a cover...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]are sooo good looking, eh. please have someone hold a mirror for these 2 babe magnets.

joe is the perfect caricature
[Read the article: No Democrat wanted Joe Lieberman's endorsement]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]of the desperate pol who will do or say anything to keep himself in office. I can not think of a worse senator sitting at the moment. while i know it was the repugs of the nutmeg state who granted him another turn at the trough, i do feel for the rest of it's citizens. gotta be tough to know one of your 2 senators has more interest in a foreign nation than his own constituents.
a little joementum indeed.

willard
[Read the article: Mitt Romney's pursuit of tyrannical power, literally]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]has probably never read the constitution, too busy with the book of morman and, of course the bible. that either party would even consider a candidate that espouses, and expands these bushco policies is beyond belief. rudy kazooti & willard the mittster are the extreme, but if we've learned nothing since 2000, it is that the extreme attracts the mainstream.
ever closer to...

i am 18 hours late
[Read the article: Mitt Romney's pursuit of tyrannical power, literally]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]but must compliment dirigo's 4:04 (AM?) post regarding the nature of willard the mittster's true nature. and his dad was a first class asshole.

[Read the article: Hillary and the mean kids on the bus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...yeah, just what we need telling us, the unwashed, what the issues are. a bunch of worthless j-school grads without manners. gad...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]hey some of us like ah zaftig women...just not the fawning w. gushing ones...
-
sorry strangetimes...
[Read the article: Hillary and the mean kids on the bus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]i was actually agreeing with you (and i criticize j-schoolers?) regarding their lack of manners toward hillary's proferred bagels. just a poor job of expressing myself.

having relocated...
[Read the article: How to solve America's water problems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]back to michigan from central georgia i can honestly say i'd take a dozen michigan winters over one macon summer. the people are lovely though, and i'd welcome them here!

the water...
[Read the article: How to solve America's water problems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]is not going antwhere, except in the nestle bottles and related pothole john corporate give aways. the economics of transporting water over long distansces is daunting. the politics is overwhelming.
as a michigan resident who depends on a well for water, and lives adjacent to huge gravel mines which abuse the aquifers locally, my immediate concerns lie there.
but my previous invitation to the good folks of georgia remains...

journalists
[Read the article: Illustrative New Hampshire snippets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]are my favorite vent. smart folks with large egos, driven to suceed...and when they do they go after cocktails supplied by the low bidder. it is startling the way they have rolled over for w. (who makes no pretense as to his contempt for them) and now have resorted to a sportswriters personna in covergage of a critical election.
a good friend abandoned j-school, fearing he was only good enough to do sports or weather. maybe i should call him.

be-bop-o
[Read the article: Illustrative New Hampshire snippets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]my wife is a pharmaceutical scientist...take the amox 'til empty, doesn't go bad in a few days.
i love the concern for you and the realization that your posts contribute mightily to the overall tone of these threads.
be well.

[Read the article: Illustrative New Hampshire snippets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]i guess i missed the part about old drugs, i took it as an interrupted scrip. yes, you are absolutely right (and i'm gonna get killed for giving mis info to my BW) to toss the old drugs.
and see the doc.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]didn't take it as yelling at me...and please yell at bop. to take his meds. now to find a way to avoid being caught...

georgia
[Read the article: How to solve America's water problems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]donna from central georgia, if it does get too hot one summer, come on up to mich. watch for the black flies, but compared to georgia skeeters, nothing. and our poisonous snake is not deadly.
macon, ga..the L &H restaurant...oooh. in the winter..

thrasher
[Read the article: Illustrative New Hampshire snippets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]i am not necessarily a clinton supporter, but why would a loss in NH mean anything? iowa & NH provide great opps for one on one contact, and less media control (spin). but that is about it. they don't carry a lot of delegates and history has shown that neither is necessary to nomination.
makes for great speculation on the pundits' part, as they can't seem to find the voters...

chris should go home
[Read the article: Chris Matthews is right ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and stay there. what a sorry excuse for a what? i can't even think of what his puirpose is, he is certainly not a journalist.
it seems he is a celebrity just like....fill in the blank, famous for being famous.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]just finished leftychris' treatise...let's meet for that joint & wine. i watched cnn last night and now my head is really spinning...

@nulla
[Read the article: Chris Matthews is right ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]never thought i'd say this, but you are right in your assertation that the media are only selling what the public wants. it is true, too many people are so self involved they can't even negotiate a 4 way stop sign. these are chris, and billy o's and fatboy rush's audience and they do pay the bills.
i do remember, however, when journalists did not stoop to the lowest denominator, but actually prided themselves on "getting the story".
huntley, brinkley, morrow and cronkite. anderson, royko, ivans...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]you wouldn't be a homie from west bloomfild, mich. would you? you know out in the burbs...
just curious.

[Read the article: Chris Matthews is right ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]i like your idea, but just gagged when you said "political correctness'. this is a big part of the problem the left has with sexism & misogyny. it's politically correct to advocate the rights of sex workers to gainful employment, never mind the damage done to the perception of women, and men for that matter, as a result of said industry. sexim, misogyny and even racism boil done to a basic lack of respect for another human being.
