Original article: Homework hell

homework

i see many kids now getting off school buses with huge backpacks full of books. i wonder why manytimes this is so. this article i feel was correct in its statements of frustration. the other letters, especially by teachers and their homework load made me laugh. all worked out in their lesson plans and with times attached. what a grim business school has become.

a dangerous man

i have been researching cults recently and came across this group run by pearl. this fundamentalist group sells a lot of books to homeschoolers. their methods are vile and have resulted in hurting and even killing children. i was surprised to see that amazon carries all the books at discount, even with many, many letters against this organization as dangerous. cult books like these with no legitimate publishers have no place on amazon i feel and i have decided to forego buying from them . this group is quite rich and has started to extend its reach to other countries. but they have not been successful and been barred. thanks to you for publishing a story on this group. it is a dangerous group for children.

the blogosphere

concerning the coming election,, isnt the strategy to get at that 15or so percent that is not committed? now are all these people on the blogosphere and how many are like my family who does not partake of the joys of itat all. then there are the elderly and such who just dont use the computer at all. so where is this incredible power that it has for a major election?? the blogging seems to be done by various males who like to think they are developing somehting of great importance. but i think this is less and less the case and the idea that these are elites is laughable..this is just a lot of boys with time on their hands. i dont even know who daily kos is. i have asked various poeple too and they dont kknow but they will be voting nevertheless. there is no smoky back room here. so talk amongst yourselves who cares...

Original article: Bite me!

not for me

bourdain is part of a new category of persons for me - i really enjoy them for various reasons but finally have to say no , go away. so i heve turned and walked away from watching his show, clever as it may be. and i have not bought any book of his after kitchen confidential, again so clever. bad boy or not as a category, enough is enough of his foigras statements and others meant to shock us. there are others of his type who are charming and superior in their ways to mine but i will not vote for them, eat with them or buy their books.

Original article: The showdown

the final solution

i dont think the world sides with isreal here. the note of triumph is just not there . listen to the questions put to tony snow today. they are pointed about israel but as always the answer is blunted. the world has policies to deal with unpleasant countries for a variety of reasons but that does not mean anyone has won. what happens to lebanon now. who will rebuilt the bombed areas. it looks like europe after the war? and i dont understand how isreal would do all this damage knowing that there were thousands of western foreigners in the country. all have lived through a terrible crisis and will have stories to tell. and what do you think they will say- hmm? who is kidding whom here...

no thanks

there has been so much written and said about sexual exploitation of cultures by the west with sex trade vacations. young women even sold for this. but it seemed to be a male need and crime. now we learn that it is a coming women thing too. and it is not sex but hot sex with a young guy and a boy toy. what is happening to women today? i just dont get it. the the predatory west now is on for all of us and we even have a fun movie to go to for justification. yeah, these young men can hardly wait to love you for yourselves. now you can join the viagra laden, ageing lotharions of the world. just dont forget your condoms and your moneybag.

Original article: "Clerks II"

real clerks

gee, i see clerks every day on tv news and it isnt that sweet at all. we see them hit in the head, shot at and even lose their lives. sweet it is not. so the association is not what it was even five years ago.actually the feeling i have is how brave of you to take a job like this -- these stores are war zones... yes bestiality but of the human kind.

confusing situation

the new theme for democrats now is the american dream and the middle class. but it is lieberman that has the support of the unions. and it is lamont who is the moneyman from the rich part of connecticut whose only theme is the war. the message here is very confusing to others and seems to point to a lose-lose situation for the primary and beyond no matter who wins.

excuse me???

how can anyone excuse stoning as punishment. how can anyone accuse salon writers of being snarky and confused culturally in reporting this abomination. hey, get your facts right email responder. this kind of argument does not fly in this country no matter how multicultural it becomes. stoning? is this the 21st century or the one you came from? and dont make me quess, my math not so good here.
