Hillary Is The Wrong Woman Candidate...

What is it about Hillary that causes me such uneasy feelings? Is it her attempts to show that she has balls equal in size of those sported by her male opponents? Her long and calculated slide toward the center that echoes Bill Clinton's "I'll do anything to get elected president" political strategy? Or is it her inability to admit to making any mistakes during her "35 years of experience." (So now we are giving credit for "life experience" to presidential contenders?)

I would welcome a female president, but I would like one who doesn't appear to be getting testosterone injections in order to appear tough enough for the job. I have had enough of bellicose presidents who are more inclined to shoot first and ask questions later. And, of course, tough guys such as George W. and Bill Clinton who successfully evaded the draft don't risk their personal safety by acting tough... they will send young men and women to do their dirty work for them.

Ah Yes, Bill Clinton... I am having deja vu all over again. I supported Bill in '92 and even sent him a sizable check that I could ill afford. And what a disappointment he turned out to be... and not just the fact that his inability to keep his pecker in his pants provided additional ammunition to his conservative foes so they could bedevil him for eight straight years. Hillary is Bill Clinton in a dress...no, make that Bill in a pantsuit. They are two peas in a pod, politicians who may have started out with real idealism 35 years ago but who have morphed into typical pols who will do and say almost anything in order to get elected. It does not comfort me one bit that years ago they hatched a plan to govern the country for sixteen years...

I cannot stomach the idea of potentially eight more years of Clintonism and unrelenting attacks by the political right. The Clintons had their chance and they blew it, and it is time to give someone else a chance to make things right, if that is even possible in such a dysfunctional political system.

Patrick, I Feel Your Pain...

The last time my wife and I flew to Europe the TSA folks confiscated a small plastic butter knife that my wife kept in her carry-on bag; it was part of our travel picnic kit. When we were served a meal on the flight every passenger was provided plastic cutlery, including a small plastic butter knife that was indistinguishable from the item deemed to be a potential weapon by the TSA...

Great Logic Folger!

That's a great reason to avoid voting for Obama, not that I believe for one instant that you would be inclined to do so even if every single Obama supporter met your civility requirements...

Have you by any chance listened to Rush Limbaugh or watched Bill O'Reilly and their ilk? They are such charming and polite watchdogs for the political right...

Ignore Rubert C and He Will Go Back To Listening To Savage Nation...

If you skip over Rubert's mindless rants and quit reacting to him sooner or later he will find refuge in a radical conservative online forum. Then he can happily commiserate with his fellow scum-bags, misogynists and, well, fill in the blank with any of the myriad negative terms that he has habitually misapplied as being character traits of progressives...

More Sex!

If anything what the U.S. could really use is more sex, not less... But I'm not talking about the repressed, ill-informed and guilt-ridden sexuality that passes for "normal" in this country. If you want to see some of the effects of the anti-sexuality "morality" that is so common among Americans, one need only read about our teenage pregnancy rates and the amount of sexual violence directed toward women. Or just casually peruse typical heterosexual porn, most of which demeans women AND men; there is nothing like sexual repression to bring out the anger and violence in our sexual fantasy imagery.

I've thought all along that if Bush, Cheney, Rove and Company were getting laid on a regular basis that they would probably be a lot less inclined to indulge their Inner Nastiness and inflict so much pain on other people. I mean Come On, it is apparent that these folks aren't getting any or if they are, they sure don't spend long, lazy afternoons boinking someone they love. Regularly getting in touch with your Inner Ecstasy makes it next to impossible to be as anti-life as the so-called Neocons and their ilk.

Original article: The "retarded" renaissance

Who Is The Real "Retard"?

Whenever I read or hear the word "retarded" used to refer to a person, it is always meant to be derogatory. And it is most commonly used by children and adolescents to put-down another person, although I see it is being used more and more by young adults who should know better...

So when a person uses the term "retarded" in an inappropriate way, I find myself thinking about how ignorant and stupid that person appears to be. Such people are apparently so intellectually lazy that they cannot come up with a cogent rebuttal... They are in fact socially and intellectually "retarded" and lacking a real developmental disability they are self-made jerks.
