about right
[Read the article: Ask the Pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've flown some high-performance aircraft in my life, and in my post-military career I flew an F-16 for a magazine article.
I don't know all the specifics of the F-4, but it sounds like our author got it pretty much right. Too bad he was such a wimp, though. Four G's? Puh-leeze! You'll get that on the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster at Universal Studios Orlando.

don't make me laugh
[Read the article: Libby spared the clink]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A Political Win for the Democrats
Don't make me laugh. The only people foaming at the mouth about this are die-hard liberals. Most people couldn't care less. Libby who? They see it for what it is: a politically motivated prosecution in a town that settles its diffferences by lawsuit. All we have to say is the prosecutor knew all along who the "leaker" was but chose to procede out of political spite.
Keep on thinking this matters to 99.9 % of the population. You'll concentrate on this while we real folks talk about things that really matter to most Americans: the Democrats' plan to surrender to Osama bin Laden and Moqtada al Sadr for political gain.

laughing even more
[Read the article: Libby spared the clink]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This will be an albatross to hang around their necks, and the Democratic nominee will make darn sure it is a heavy burden.
All we have to do is show the Dems' absolute silence when Bill Clinton pardoned a man convicted of a true crime who was living as a fugitive overseas but who gave big bucks to the Clinton slush fund ... er, I mean, the Clinton Library. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Hah! Just keep showing yourselves to be the politcally motivated hypocrites you are!

"This is the same thing that Scooter and the gang were trying to do to Joe Wilson"
[Read the article: Libby spared the clink]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Except it was Richard Armitage who "leaked" Plame's name, not Libby or anyone else. And Fitzgerald knew that and proceded anyway. Prosecutorial misconduct, anyone?
And welcome back, Tom Payne. I've missed you. Claimed to be a Vietnam vet lately, even though you spent your time on an air-conditioned frigate?
I at least had to do night traps, which apparently would have you crapping in your pants. Ha!

Ha!

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm really about ready to leave this horrible country
Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!
All you whiners pissing and moaning about the president exercising a power that's actually given to him by the Constitution and for the very reason the Founders foresaw: a travesty of justice, a political prosecution for a crime that never happened.
Compare that to Clinton pardoning a fugitive criminal who happened to have given him boodles of money, but the silence from the same whiners here at that time was--THUNDERING
You all a bunch of pissy crybabies and whiners and hypocrites to boot.

Titus Pullo
[Read the article: Bush and Cheney walk, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]From Wikipedia:
Titus Pullo was one of the two Roman centurions of the 11th Legion mentioned in the personal writings of Julius Caesar. The other soldier mentioned was Lucius Vorenus; they appear in Caesar's Commentarii de Bello Gallico, Book 5, Chapter 44.
Pullo and Vorenus were fierce rivals for promotion to primus pilus, the most senior centurion in a legion. Both distinguished themselves in 54 BC when the Nervii attacked the legion under Quintus Cicero in their winter quarters in Nervian territory. In an effort to outdo Vorenus, Pullo charged out of the fortified camp and attacked the enemy, but was soon wounded and surrounded. Vorenus followed and engaged his attackers in hand-to-hand combat, killing one and driving the rest back, but lost his footing and was himself soon surrounded. Pullo in turn rescued Vorenus, and after killing several of the enemy, the pair returned to camp amid applause from their comrades.
Sounds like a kickass hero to me.

[Read the article: Bush and Cheney walk, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You miss the point about Clinton. We're not comparing the acts of Clinton and LIbby. We're comparing the reactions.
Clinton pardoned (not commuted the sentence of) a guy who was living as a fugitive overseas but who had given oodles of money to Clinton.
Clinton also pardoned terrorists and murderers from a Puerto Rican separatist group in order to help his wife's senate campaign, as the Puerto Rican vote is very big in NYC.
Clinton's pardons were far more craven than what Bush has done, yet there was nothing but silence from the same people who are pissing their pants over this relatively simple affair.
As someone else said, it's the hypocrisy.

Keith, you ignorant, pompous ass
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Where was your blathering about justice and fairness when Clinton pardoned terrorists and murderers to help Hillary's senate campaign in NY? When he pardoned a fugitive felon who just happened to have given oodles of money to the Clinton slush fund ... um, I mean, Clinton Library?
Lied into war? Have you read Al Gore's words about what a threat Saddam was? John Kerry's? Hillary's? Bill Clinton's?
You're historically ignorant, Keith, and you're a blowhard, but you disguise it behind highfalutin pompous language so that gullible people in the choir think you're somehow being profound.
Until you comment on the above, I accuse you of being a hypocrite and a liar.

I don't hate America
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I hate hypocrisy, and it's been overflowing the Dem sewers for the past 2 days. Utter silence when Clinton pardons terrorists and murders to help Hillary's campaign, but frothing at the mouth and pissing the pants over this minor affair.
And to the ignoramous who doesn't know which Hornet I'm referring to, it's official name was the F/A-18 Hornet, hell of lot faster and snazzier than anything you're driving.
