awe shucks

gosh darnit, golly gee, this woman is a fucking idiot. obama was a child in honolulu when bill ayers headed the weathermen in detroit. maybe the fbi should investigate the stink bomb that exploded in honolulu's punahou school cafeteria. could be tied to obama. the mccain-palin is truly desperate at this point.

miss congeniality

why anyone thought that sarah palin's speech was anything more than public speaking 101 is beyond me. that jabbing finger, that pinched face and that accent straight out of "fargo" all highlighted the words of a bitter, ill-informed and sadly unqualified candidate. if america is looking for a reality show where the maligned protagonist first gets mad and then gets even then stay tuned to the sarah palin show. after eight years of failed policies, a brutal war and rising poverty, the republicans have no shame in trying to pull the wool over the eyes of americans one more time with hypocritical family values, playground bully leadership and false promises. let's hope people get a clue and vote for reason over retrograde politics.

@doc5467

i think you're the one who's a little dim since you claim not to have heard palin's views on abortion, creationism and the environment. maybe instead of writing brainless posts on how it's no big deal that palin's teenage daughter was impregnated by a 27 year old since the legal consent age is 16, you should spend more time getting a clue as to palin's political views.

@doc5467

the exact wording or relationship between the two is irrelevant since it's a misdemeanor. you would have had us believe that there was nothing wrong with a 27 year old sleeping with an underage girl. i could really care less if the father is a 27 year old, her cousin or God, all i know is that all this preaching that comes out of palin's mouth regarding abortion, gay rights, creationism and the environment is just a ploy to win over the bible beaters in the g.o.p.. all i'm saying is that people who live in glass houses should really mind their own goddamn business.

hypocrisy

what would republicans say about family, which includes a mother with five kids, a pregnant teenage daughter and a soon to be unemployed husband, that is living off the state?

welcome to the g.o.p. welfare state.

@Sartrewasright

you really think $125,000 is not that much money. i think most working class americans will disagree with you. i think it's pretty pathetic that palin has to sell this image of herself and her family as hardworking, churchgoing, upstanding citizens, when it's becoming sadly apparent that she's got quite a few skeletons in her closet. it's been four days since her candidacy was announced and she's already got a drunk driving husband, a corruption charge, a pregnant 17-year old daughter, and the poor judgment not to use birth control or have her tubes tied to prevent a fifth pregnancy at 44 herself.

@skylark

it's also nobody's business if a woman chooses to have an abortion. yet interestingly, palin seems to think it's her business. the worst thing about this woman is not her views, it's her hypocrisy.

by the way...

...a few days ago, the palins were trying to sell their fourth of july image of the all-american family by saying they had been shopping for a cheerleader ourfit in chicago. for who? a 6 month pregnant teenager? cut the crap palins and go back to your deer huntin' and snowmobilin'.

if the palins keep...

...choosing life at this rate, the population of alaska just might hit the one million mark by election day.

ps-give me a break. don't try to white wash your questionable parenting skills by telling us it's a miracle.

really rupert_c?

people who use the n-word are usually the same bible-thumping, war mongering, oil freaks who would have us believe that their brand of america represents family values and the keys to the kingdom. please don't lecture me on vocabulary. white trash is a broad enough term to include racist rednecks and upper-crust neocons.

Monday, September 1, 2008 10:44 AM

IS IT JUST ME...

...or are the palin's just a little bit white trash? the five kids, the dui, the teenage pregnancy, the hunting? call me an elitist but i much prefer the obama's, their college degrees, their two cute and well groomed kids and their overall class and sophistication. can't america aspire to be a country of well-mannered intellectuals, rather than a nation of bible-thumping rednecks?

palin by comparison

it's interesting that palin is so gung ho about drilling in the arctic national wildlife refuge when her husband works for bp, an oil giant, in alaska. it's also interesting that she used her political clout to try to get her ex brother in law fired from his state trooper job when he was in the midst of his divorce from her sister. is this the kind of backward, petty, corrupt person we want to be second in line for the presidency? and yeah, she's been governor for 18 months and before that she was a part-time mayor in a town of 7000. i guess her political experience just blows obama's 14 years of public service out of the water. well, maybe if she uses her polar bear hunting rifle.
