Plants in the audience

as reported in Slate:

"The African American gentleman who "Begged" McCain to "Hit Obama hard", citing the "Good Reverend Wright" at a rally in Wisconsin today was a paid motivational speaker.

Slate has already identified him James T Harris, Milwaulkee talk radio host. What they failed to mention is that Mr. Harris's services are for hire through his main business, IllumiNation. Homepage: http://www.jamestillumination.com. "

Mostly it appears as if they are still palying to the standard GOP script. McCain gets to look like he's setting the record straight while the negative ads continue to play, and Sarah Palin continues the same attacks.

Another mulch solution

Place your grass clippings on old newspaper between your rows of plants. It works great, and then you just turn it into the soil at the end of the season.

There is nothing like fresh veggies and herbs from your own garden.

My Florida residing father

is voting for Obama. He last voted dem in 1960, for JFK. If McCain has lost my father, he's lost alot of republicans, not just moderates. My father's vote should have been assumed by McCain - as a matter of fact it was until he selected Sarah Palin as his running mate. Now my father just sees McCain zigging and zagging, and he's not happy with the republican party being taken over by the religious right.

He thinks Obama is better suited for dealing with the challenges our country faces.

Every one has setbacks

But you seem to be made of fine stock. I can identify with you - I'm starting all over again for the third time in my adult life. This time is not about the big score - I need a job that can carry me to retirement and won't be outsourced to China or India.

Ahyhow, all the greatest have had to struggle over something. Keep on trying - trust that you've learned something from your experience.

Gingrich/Palin 2012!!!

Is what Newt is hoping for.

He's such a toad.

No doubt

my niece will see it tomorrow.

And then proclaim she wants to go to Julliard.

At least I don't trowel on make up like a trollop.

Or could it be

Lorne Michaels is making sure there are no more jokes at the expense of his candidate?

Phoenix is LA East

so it would not surise me if Obama won.

And McCain is no Barry Goldwater.

Good for Crist!

I have respect for him that he decided to do the right thing.

I would not be surprised, however, if a salicious piece of information about Gov. Crist was released in the near future.

They can't get it out by Thanksgiving?

The album would make a great gag gift, rather than the lastest iteration of the chia pet.

Katie Couric saved her career

with the interview of Palin. I know many people that watch her now, rather than NBC or ABC.

She should release the records

They get that baby in in her arms so quickly because the image is archetypal - Madonna with child.

The evangelicals are about to pivot to the Cult of Mary. Get ready for the Mary in the bath tub and Mary on the Half Shell in the front yard.

McCain's revenge?

Is this repayment for trying to position herself for 2012?

Negative vs Positive in reporting

The part about this topic that amazes me is no one ever talks about the methodology used to determine what is positive or negative, or what the definition of positive or negative is in the study.

My own reason for dropping the paper (NYTimes) was two-fold. I get better information from the internet, and I can't stand Bill Kristol.

The good new from that Debra Howell piece

is that David Broder has taken a buyout. I am hoping that he'll be gone by the end of the year.

What amazes me

Is that having seen the Clinton campaign fail, the McCain campaign decided to follow it, and make all the same mistakes. Whowever got Mark Penn to release his emails and memos deserves a gold star. The McCain campaign took the bait and ran with it!

This has truly the most interesting campaign I have ever witnessed in my 46 years.

Mitch McConnell may lose

He's being smeared by the Dems:

The Daily Show

was hilarious before 2000. I remember they were worried that Bush would not provide the material that Clinton had. And Obama has already been the subject of a number of routines.

Anyhow, TDS spoofs the TV news as much as it analyzes politics. The TV news boobs are not going away.

Jon Stewart's future

He will eventually leave TDS, and become a majjor player behind the scenes, perhaps replacing Lorne Michaels at NBC. In addition to his role as "anchor" of TDS he's done a great job of finding and developing talent.

Bravo Katie!

"I think she should keep her head down, work really hard and learn about governing."

It may sting, but its true. And really the only way that SP can move forward.

Obama is a strategic thinker

I'm sure he has a contingency plan for Sen Lieberman.

I've had a dislike for my senator for a number of years. Just seeing that picture makes me ill. But if this nueters Lieberman and I don't have to hear or see him I guess I'll be happy.

Pushing Daisies looked expensive

I'm sure that had a part in its demise. I thought it was well written, and I loved Swoozie Kurtz in it. Oh well.

He's got a platform

And unless he chops it down himself he's unlikely to lose it.

Many people I know that don't pay as close attention as Glenn think he's wonderful and insightful. I'm not trying to oppose Glenn's argument here, but I think Mr Freidman probably knows at this point that no one will challenge him seriously on the TV, so he can pretty much say whatever he wants.

Giada

Giada has man-hands. She also wears her blouses low-cut and the italian pronunciations of the foods she makes can bother me at times. She's says some stupid thigs too. I once heard her say she kept her frozen ravioli in the freezer.
