Dan Savage

is on Bill Maher tonight. Yay! Thought some of you might be interested. If you haven't seen him, check him out--his political discussions on the show in the past have been insightful and well argued.

Kirchick writes: "So before I heed Greenwald's drive-by denunciations, perhaps he can first end his conspicuous silence on the man he once championed, apologize to Goldstein, Klein and Neiwert, and stop providing liberal justifications for the presidential candidate of choice for white nationalists."

This is so........stupid! What the hell is a "drive-by denunciation"? That's a content-free insult! Is there some metaphorical way that a blogger can write "in park" rather than "in drive"?? What is the difference? And why do I expect anything coming from Kirchick to make any sense?

I missed the part where Glenn championed Ron Paul. Must have been another drive-by thing.

Glenn, do apologize to Goldstein, Klein, and Neiwert. I know you are sorry that you didn't have enough time and space to more thoroughly expose their mendacity.

Journalists in a "news-free zone"

Everywhere you GO is a news-free zone, motherfuckers.

Glenn's blog today made me laugh and rage at the same time. I think if anyone wanted to make an argument about the death of satire, they could use many of Glenn's recent posts as evidence. Can anyone really satirize these jackasses, when their actions and words reach such sublime heights of absurdity?

Can't resist piling on...

William, I'll add Christian Parenti, Charlie Savage, and Robert Fisk. Yay.

"Threaten," not "admonish"

Suze26, I completely agree. This letter is an outrageous threat by a bunch of rich, above-the-law bastards.

Since Pelosi published this "private" letter, I think she wants people to know about their scumbag tactics.

You can send her a quick letter here

http://speaker.house.gov/contact/

if you want to support her in standing up to them.

This takes the frakkin cake

I don't read Camille Paglia's articles on Salon, so this article has got to be the most moronic, ill-informed piece I have ever seen here. Salon should be ashamed to put out this tripe.

Dude, you don't deserve to be on the same cyberpages as the great Glenn Greenwald.

Original article: How 1968 changed Hillary

No bookbags in 1968?

A number of commenters on Hillary's story about throwing her bookbag have pointed out that there were no such things as bookbags in 1968. I am not sure about the history of the bookbag, but maybe HRC is making shit up again??

Ah, more deception. *twirls mustache*

Penn is leaving but he is not leaving. And Hillary supports working people but is surrounded by union-busters. And we must follow the will of the voters, but the superdelegates should give Hillary the crown. Can someone send Hillary a copy of George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language"? No wait, send that to all the voters instead.

Ode to tom payne

If my interest's on the wane,

I go read one by tom payne.

He gives wingnuts his true ire

And burns outrage into fire.

He just tries to tell the truth,

And of this adage he's proof:

"If you're not angry, well then,

You aren't really pay'ng attention!"

The elephant in the article is...

the unbelievably piss-poor job the moderators did during the debate.

The outrage over the idiocy of Charlie "capital gains tax" Gibson and George "Hannity's mouthpiece" Stephanopoulos goes on for pages and pages on the ABC News website and all over the blogosphere.

People have been jamming the phone lines at ABC News with complaints.

This was, simply, the worst debate ever seen, and a prime example of the corporate media's utter contempt for democracy.

Remember that every time Hillary begins a sentence with "you know," or "my opponent," the next thing out of her mouth is a lie.

Hilarious!

But there is another way you can tell she is about to lie: She bursts out into weird, creepy laughter.

Did anyone see her on Countdown when Keith asked her why she didn't denounce Scaife and instead took his endorsement?? One of the strangest responses by a politician I have ever seen. Keith was puzzling over the bizarre laughter and over the "unholy alliance" of Scaife and Clinton.

I don't understand why this doesn't give her supporters pause. Scaife isn't just anybody--he financed, to a large degree, the vicious rightwing noise machine that has corrupted our democracy. He once infamously called a woman reporter a "c**t" and told her to get the hell out of a room full of people after she asked a question he didn't like. That's some alliance for a candidate that putatively speaks for women.

Stupid stupid liar and hack

She has no chance of winning the nomination except by a coup. She didn't actually win tonight--she lost, because she had to have won by a huge margin to even get on track toward getting the requisite number of delegates. And now she has to win the rest of the races by impossible margins.

I cannot frikkin BELIEVE that so many people are so badly informed that they cannot grasp that simple fact.

This is just so tiresome. Go away already. Read the writing on the wall that you should have read months ago.

I agree, it was spot on

I was so glad to see him confronting McSame rather than engaging Clinton. There is no need for him to pay attention to her any more. The math for her has gone past the point of no return.

If she refuses to face reality, Obama must get a head start for the coming election and position himself against McSame. Otherwise, we will see Clinton successful in her scorched-earth attempts to destroy him and the Dem Party.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 09:51 PM

Leave Obama's balls alone,

crazy person.

ProudTexasGirl

Our "boy"??

Charming.

There is a Hillary fan site that is just up your alley, and I suggest you go there: hillaryis44.com

Those people refer to Obama as a "thug" and as "uppity." They follow that great "leader" Hillary in evoking (or stating) primitive views of Black men.

In their world view, Obama is dangerous and sinister, the leader of an out-of-control mob, and possessed of all the attributes that a typical bigot ascribes to Blacks.

You will be most welcome there, I promise you.

Equally important

is the fact that Clinton has taken huge contributions from Big Pharma. I don't have the figures, but she was one of the pols targeted in Sicko for being in the pocket of that gang of thugs.
