Pot odds

It sounds like you had pot odds and had to call. Also did you consider asking to play the hand out 3 times which would have minimized your chances of going broke. I played in a couple of the big clubs until the NYPD closed them down(they had nothing more important to do?) Why poker is simply not legal while the lottery and slots are in this state is incomprehensible to me.

nevertheless

I'd much rather be ahead in the polls then behind and while I'm not panicking I am growing increasingly more pessimistic

Like a cop show

The RNC convention was a case of "good cop(McCain)/bad cop, bad cop, bad cop, bad cop, etc.

What Sarah Palin means

Obama earned his nomination while Gov Palin was picked solely because she is a woman and because she is anti choice not because of any qualifications. Her choice was the mirror image of Clarence Thomas's and is just as condescending to women as Justice Thomas's was to African Americans. Senator McCain was saying woman are so stupid that they will vote based on similarity of anatomy and ignore his exteme anti woman policies

McCain in his own words

I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president

FISA

I sometimes get the impression that we on the left would rather lose 48 states to 2 then win with a Clinton or an Obama. Notice how now that the primary season is over the right is swallowing their qualms on McCain because they'd rather win then be pure. Is there any doubts after 8 years of this maniac president that solidarity is imperative and Obama is the far superior choice in this election. After the election and our victories in the congress then lets push Obama to the left.

What a difference 8 years make

How can I have come to hate someone(Nader) who has done so much good in his lifetime.

Enough is enough-MSNBC is the home of Olbermann

Fox is thrilled as the Cable network that gives progressives the fairest shake, MSNBC, is being so condemned. Senator Clinton says Fox is fairer to her then MSNBC. That's just plain disingeneous. FOX which regularly trots out Clinton hater Dick Morris hates her. And while Hardball has often been unfair to her, Dan Abrams has devoted whole segments examining the presses unfairness to her. And Schuster is an excellent reporter who made a mistake and apolgized. Lets end this distraction.

Didn't Janis Joplin do a kick ass version of To Love Somebody?
