  • Hillary as a hinderance to feminist cause?

[Read the article: How much will white racism hurt Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am not sure I consider myself a feminist or not. But as a woman I'm sort of embarrassed by Hillary's campaign. And now with the charges of sexism its even more embarrassing.

    Why?

Because no woman who was the first hired in the police department would have complained publicly during boot camp that she was having problems scaling the wall because she was a girl. No woman being considered for an upper management position in a major corporation would complain to the HR department that her reports and analyses were not well-received because she is a woman.

Every woman understands that there is sexism in our society (just as black recognize racism). Ad as a black woman in a white male dominated profession, I am well positioned to speak to either credibly.

I'm ashamed of the latest charges of sexism from Bill and even herself. I would also hate to hear charges of racism from Obama or Axelrod or Michelle. These types of charges are easy and cheap and allow her to avoid the hard work of examining why she performed so horribly in this campaign and what OTHER factors may have played a role in her losses (OTHER than sexism).

Self-examination is tough. She takes the easy route with sexism. FIRST look over the hard stuff. THEN for the things you cannot explain, perhaps consider sexism.

I'm ashamed of her actions in this regard and frankly it's NOT what I would expect of a true feminist.

    hehe, right on.

Its like Rocky Balboa vs. Bond. James Bond, you know?

I too love it. It noticed the irony of people who on one hand say he's a such a newbie, an empty suit while on the other hand accuse him of orchestrating such amazing power and influence...

(example: Bill Clinton;s SC comments were not offensive to anyone. It was OBAMA who SPUN it that way and divided the party. See? Ever single debacle the Clintons brought on themselves they blame on some super Obama powers of influencing the media and creating incredible spin that suits only his cause. I figure, if he's THAT damn good, damnit, let's run him! But NO we can't run him because he;s too *green, new, naive, inexperienced - other* to win against McCain).

    Hillarious.

I agree with you. He learned A LOT in Chicago. And that AINT a bad thing.

  • Can we just give her all the damned FL and MI delegates?

[Read the article: Obama aide predicts final victory after primaries]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Please? And then have the party actually nominate Obama? Has anyone run the math? Aren't there a bunch of supers who still have to endorse? Couldn't hey effectively wipe of ALL of FL and MI even if 100% of them went to CLinton?

If so, that would be sweet.

  • FL and MI math solution

[Read the article: Obama aide predicts final victory after primaries]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Here's an idea:

There are 338 delegates in FL and MI

Hillary has 1780 delegates right now. IF you add ALL 338 it comes to 2118.

Obama has 1974 delegates right now. If you all ALL the supers (208) it comes to 2182.

    Wow.

I guess we couldn't technically give her ALL of FL and MI and probably he wouldn't get ALL the supers but the math is still ugly.

  • Plus you have to add in the remaining states

    Montana, SD PR...

    Ugly indeed.

  • Hummm, not sure about that

While I'm no fan of Clinton, I do feel sad for her that she would be in such a position after such a vigorous race for the white house.

I think she played politics the way its always been played, and unfortunately it was a gross misestimation of the general public sentiment. However, there is no way to ignore her substantial following.

That said, I'm not sure how well suited for the judiciary she is, if looked at objectively. While I agree with her policy positions, I've no indication of her sense of jurisprudence. She's never been a judge or even a trial attorney. I know she's a lawyer but so is Mark Garagos.

I know the process for confirming justices is 50% job interview and 50% bullshit but given some of more recent displays of disregard for the law (rules), I'm a little skittish about a SCOTUS position for her. And is that something Obama could even promised her? At best he can nominate her, right? He cannot guarantee the position.

Surely there has to be something better for her. Besides I think she LOVES interacting with people, not papers in the hallowed walls of justice. I think she likes the livelier aspects of legislation rather than the dusties of the court. I think she likes the politics of politics and the people and the interaction with other lawmakers on the floor of the senate. I'm not sure a seat on the SCOTUS would suit her personality. Seems awfully crusty to me.

And maybe a waste. There has to be somewhere else she could be effective.

BTW the whole idea of junior and senior senators sickens me. Its like watching a scene from "The Office" and explains why so much shit doesn't get done. The last thing we need in real politics is "office politics". Too bad. Our founders probably never intended ANYONE serving in the US government as a career. My, but how *far* we've come. SIGH

  • McCain is easy

What the HELL is he talking about?

When Obama makes an ad like this he's an empty suit, right? Geez. I'm so over it.

Our counter ad simply shows his actual POSITIONS on the things he CLAIMS to plan to do. AND shows his long-standing RECORD of voting against the very things he suddenly says he plans to do.

    Done.

But i guess we'll get to that when we have a nominee.

God please let early June come soon. I'm SICK SICK SICK of McCain and his FREE FREAKING RIDE BULLSHIT DOUBLE TALK EXPRESS.

    Sick of it.

    haha.

    true that!

Don't forget how much she started with too. Blew through THAT and then some PLUS has a huge loan out to herself.

I'll take the dude who started with no money and has raised a quarter of a Billion dollars in less than a year with little amounts from a couple million folks.
