[Read the article: Winds of change]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've enjoyed your comments.
You make a lot of sense and echo some of the frustrations I feel with the "eco-set".
There is no perfect form of energy. Period. Since we humans have not figured out a way to create it spontaneously. I think we can see that nuclear can be done and done well. I get aggravated with people who find reasons to stop every form of energy. Its why we don't drill off the coasts of Florida (my home state) for oil which we have plenty of. Its why we cant make moves in Alaska. Its why we can't build refineries Its why we actually have people here talking about the BIRD that windmill MIGHT hurt. And yes its why people slam those who drive SUVs when not everyone who does has the option not to. And why they drive their Prius' to work - alone. Arrrgh.
Thanks for your reasoned arguments. You are NOT alone.

Forget Keating
[Read the article: It's beginning to look a lot like the general election]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]All Obama has to do to respond to this particular "associations" attack is say :
"It's not the associations, McCain. I'm not arguing associations. I'm suggesting that if your campaign is being run by lobbyists, if your campaign is being funded by lobbyists and special interests, they will of course WANT something in return, expect something in return if you somehow successfully win this election. That's part of the PROBLEM not part of the SOLUTION. The Lobbyists have been running things in Washington for too long, certainly since you've been there over the last 35 years and that's why nothing seems to get done. The American People are sick of it because most of the time, it doesn't benefit THEM. THAT'S why my campaign hasn't done it, we won't do and when I get elected the congress will be run by the people of this country."
PERIOD.

jebdlemm full of bs
[Read the article: Maps show Clinton better against McCain than Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm from Florida so let me ease your little mind.
I don't "tend to not want to vote for them" OK? We're NOT STUPID and we are intelligent enough to figure out WTF is going on. You suggestion that we're so stupid and confused as to withhold our vote in sucha crucial election because of something NONE of the candidates caused is insulting and indicates how closed-minded you are. I know people THINK this is what we are feeling but, hell, nobody asked me or anyone I know.
It wasn't Obama OR Hillary who were responsible for the NO VOTES COUNTED bullshit. It was our Reppublican Governor and Legislature who insisted on moving up the primary.
I have NOTHING against Hillary or Obama for not campaigning here. This decision by our legislature and the removal of delegates by teh DNC is what is responbsible.
And on the contrary, I will be QUITE HAPPY to cast my vote in November.
BTW I am a registered independent who has voted for Bill Clinton 2 times and George Bush two times. I would have changed my registration to vote in FL's closed primary HAS I THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE MATTERED but they told me it wouldn't way back in late summer/early fall of 2007 and since I couldn't have conceived of Hillary actually being challenged for the nomination, i figured...why bother.

One more 'fly' in the ointment
[Read the article: Maps show Clinton better against McCain than Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No one wants to bring up the fact that neither of these candidates run for office alone.
Discuss? Or simply admit the truth: it just doesn't matter.
;)
BTW Obama/Clinton 08

Nothing wrong with you and nothing wrong with him
[Read the article: My husband wants a different form of eroticism ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But you have some choices to make since you cannot truly love someone while simultaneoulsy wanting them to change who they are.
He had these inclinations before you married him so its safe to assume THIS IS HIM.
And YOU are YOU.
No need to dissect it psychologically. No need to dig into your own past on this. Everyone is different in what they like. The challenge for you is whether or not you can live with it.
Since you are uncomfortable doing the things he likes (don't beat yourself up for that or try to force it - it won't work)you have to decide whether its OK to STAY in the marriage and figure out a way to get your own needs met and allow him to do the same OR leave the marriage.
A decision to stay together and look outside the marriage for these special needs is a decision only YOU can make, really. He's already DOING what he needs to do. Can you handle that? What needs do you have? How would you feel about developing your own separate "needs" network? What other value are you getting from the relationship with your husband? (you mentioned the kids) Is that worth the trade off?
If you decide its worth it to stay and broach the subject of the outside needs attainment you'll probably have to delineate certain rules and boundaries that accompany this freedom. (such as: cannot do it in our mutual home, no overnights apart, no mentioning around kids, budgetary considerations, whatever is appropriate for your situation).
What you have to stop trying to do is CHANGE yourself to suit him. He is who he is and you are who you are. This is NOT like sitting through Battlestar Gallactica with your hubby cuz it's his favorite show. We're talking about some fundamental sexual differences.
If an open situation feels kooky to you, maybe it time to consider ending the marriage because it sounds like all his behavior is making you doubt yourself and whether you should be doing this or that when there's nothing wrong with either of you. You're just different.
Either way, remember you are as important as he. Your needs are as important as he. Don't try to change yourself into something you're not. Be at peace with yourself. Untie yourself from all those knots you've got yourself wound in.
I sincerely wish you the best.
