  • hey micki (you so fine, you so fine you blow my mind)

    sorry couldn't resist.

Well the way it went down in Michigan was everyone voluntarily removed their names. It was part of the rules. That's why nobody's names were on the ballots. All the candidates removed their names way back when after it was decided that the Michigan delegates would not be seated (IE the votes wouldn't matter) Clinton was supposed to do the same thing when Michigan made its foolish rule to not count the votes - they were all supposed to remove their names. For whatever reason clinton didn't.

I don't think she was up to anything nefarious although there are those who think her failure to remove her name was calculated. I think it was probably just a paperwork oversight thing, in reality.

Listen they are both politicians. Clinton wanted to count florida *as is* because a campaign + revote would probably result in a less decisive win for her there (ie Barak would narrow the gap). Obama WANTED a revote in FL for that exact reason. But only if they could both campaign there. For a while they were talking about a caucus (cheaper than a revote) which Clinton opposed vehemently - Obama has done well in caucuses. (Heck we even tossed around the idea of a private person or corporation footing the 25 million revote bill here in FL)!

In Michigan, they were talking about the possibility of a caucus too. No can do - clinton didn't want that. Wanted votes counted as is. More problematic b/c hers was the only name on the ballot - sort of like an election in the former USSR.

All I'm saying is that they BOTH wanted the thing to be done in the way that would benefit them the most. SHE: count the votes as is without campaigns or even other names on the ballot, despite the rules that were previously agreed upon. HE: Follow the rules and don't seat the delegates - we all agreed to it last summer - or hold a legitimate campaign and revote.

In the end the DNC refused to pay for any revote as did out State's governor. Looks like Michigan decided the same. The DNC is who should be punished. There's no neat solution to this mess.

look interesting for sure. not too young not too old. former two term governor. white. southern. moderate.

    i like it.

With Webb I worry about the two Jr. senators thing. I mean i know his "strength" to the ticket is military experience but shouldn't the VP be someone who can actually take over executive duties in case President Obama, after launching his OPEN GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE, exposing all the corruption and bullshit in Washington and forcing our elected officials to be accountable to their constituencies, mysteriously winds up dead (as so often happens with popular change agents in the US) ?

    Sorry.

Seriously would't the cabinet be better for all the military types? I understand that we feel we have to meet McCain on the military part...i guess that's why everyone is saying Webb?

But I'm really thinking a governor. Am I wrong?

many of the people who say they are dems are not. You figure it out soon enough. Anyone who claims to be a dem and says they'll vote for McCain if their candidate doesn't win (especially if they didn't JUST walk out of the election center) should raise an eyebrow and great suspicion.

I also am a person who will vote for the dem no matter what his fall. Right now it looks like Obama. If it were clinton I'd go with that too. We all have reasons we PREFER one or the other but give the almost nonexcistant policy differences anyone who says they'd vote for McCain if their dem isn't nominated is probably not a democrat.

Some people feel they know what will ahppen in November. Truth is, none of us do so we are all trying to make predictions based on our own assumptions, some stats, sone past markers, some present indicators, and various random experiences we've had in life.

Obama MIGHT win in a general election run off with McCain. Then again, he might not.

As always we humans hate not being able to predict the world around us. If we're not careful we'll end up inventing another religion to aid us. Maybe we could say a chant and perform some ritual and THEN, we'd know for sure.

Hey, nobody knows what's going to happen in November. Or in three hours for that matter.

Then don't wring you hands about it. If, after doing all the 'research' on him that you say you have done, you don't "trust" Obama then don't vote for him. Simple. No big deal OK? Don't wring your hands about it. You have to live with yourself so it is what it is.

    I ain't mad at ya.

If you want to vote for McCain, do it. Its a free country. Everyone has the prerogative to vote how they want. So ho vote for him.
