  • Electability

[Read the article: Networks say Clinton will win Pennsylvania]

Any argument for electability must include the millions of new and energized democratic voters who support Obama. SO here's how the conversation will go:

HILLARY: I know i don't have the greatest number of pledged delegates but i carried the swing states we need. ANd the big states.

SUPERS: We're not worried about the big states liek CA and BY. Obama would be fine there.

HILLARY: Perhaps but we'll need the swing states to win the general

SUPERS: thats true. How do you plan to harness Obama's supporters? We think we can rely on the latte-types. What about the youth and those huge numbers of African Americans? What's you plan?

HILLARY: They'll come on board once they see the possibility of McCain.

SUPERS: Sigh...not so sure about that. We stand the possibility of losing a new generation of involved democrats and SIGH we must have the African American vote...and not just the old party faithful...we need those ones Obama has energized to get involved with politics for the first time.

HILLARY: He'll support me and they'll do what he says.

SUPERS: Not sure Hillary. Listen. Barak has the most pledged delegates but you make some good points. IF we *suggest* to him that he make you VP would you?

    HILLARY: I would rather not.

SUPERS: But neither of you really can win without the other's constituency. As a matter of fact, there is some chance that you base would vote dem regardless and others might not vote dem regardless. This is very difficult Hillary. We need to compromise.

    And so on.

Interestingly enough I also think (at this point) the supers will have a similar conversation with Barak, *suggesting* that he place Hillary on the ticket in VP slot to sure up voting blocks where he is weakest.

I think its ironic that its come to this. But overall it a good thing. They'll both need to acknowledge the other's strengths and admit their own shortcomings and WORK TOGETHER. This could be a good start to the most successful political team in US History.

  • sour grapes what sour grapes

with the exception of a few *out there* obama supporters on this board, NO ONE expected Obama to WIN PA. Not six weeks ago, not yesterday. The issue has alwasy been margin. We wanted to see what the margins would be. Not even Barak's own camp expected a win here.

So I don't know what sour grapes your talking about.

The margin looks to be between 6 and 8 percent. Hillary will get most of the delegates for the state (this si supposed to be surprising?) and Obama will get the rest.

EVERYONE was holding out to see what the margins would look like, even Hillary's camp. True a win is a win. I've no problem with that. You cannot find one reference to anyone in Obama's campaign that ever said they expected to win PA.

    I dare you.

  • All you Hillary supporters on the boards...

Get of the boards and go send that woman some freakin money she just finished beggin for it during her victory speech in PA. You believe in her, send her your money she's 10 million in debt.

  • A meteor LMAO!!

But seriously, the good she's doing is allowing Obama to campaign in every single US state which has consistently worked to his strong advantage (I'm thinking GE here OK?) It will serve the democrats well in the general.

Relax. It will al work itself out. Unless....meteor.

  • On a lighter note

I'm looking at the numbers for PA...so far almost 1.8 million voters! and only 75% of precincts reporting.

Trust me on this the Repubs are scared of this. That's why they hang out on these boards trying to create division. That's why.

Nearly 2 million registered democrats in a primary. Amazing.

How many registered republicans in PA anyway? Anyone know where this info might be?

  • What Clinton wins tonight is

[Read the article: The unofficial end of the race for pledged delegates]

the reasonable argument to have the supers *insist* Obama make her VP on the ticket.

Since she won't overtake him in pledged delegates, her argument is *look what I bring to the table: blue collars he can't get, older white voters he can't get. He will have a tough time winning in the general without me on the ticket*

This is probably the most reasonable argument she could make since it MAKES SENSE, unlike the argument that she should be the top of the ticket while being woefully lacking in pledged delegates.

THIS is an argument she could make since any Obama VP would probably be chosen to try to sure up voting blocks where he is lacking. And she certainly has proven that she has wide popularity among those populations. So...

    THAT'S what Hillary won tonight.

  • if you believe in her

Go donate to her campaign instead of hanging out on the boards. THAT was part of her victory speech too.

I am an Obam supporter HP re-read my post.

I am saying taht the only thing clinton win tonight is the possibility of being added to obamas ticket as VP since she obviously has an appeal to a voting segment that he has some difficulty with.

Obama will be fine in CA and NY and many other states.

    I think you mis-read me
