  • FL run by republican legislature

[Read the article: New Michigan delegate compromise offered]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yes everyone thought it would be over by Feb.5th (including Hillary) whichis why she didn't fuss about the 'disenfranchisement" at the time this decision was made.

I do remember however, there being some quibbling between the dems and the repubs in the legislature about his at the time. I think the dems didn't fight as hard as they should have because they also figured it wouldn't matter.

But even the fight they put up would not have amounted to much...the legislature and the governor are republicans. (yes, we voted them in. Crist, who i like, is a moderate who came in and made clear his political differences from another republican, Jeb Bush, under whom he served as Attorney General). He's a moderate and truly love the State of Florida. But McCain is NOT Charlie Crist.

re: the re-vote being BLOCKED by Obama...NOT TRUE.

As an Obama supporter, i would have welcomed a re-vote. (so would he...the opportunity to campaign here would have been splendid!) . It was Hillary who wanted the votes counted as cast understanding that a revote would net her fewer votes than if they were counted without a revote. Obama wanted the *COUNT AS CAST* stupidity blocked (and rightfully so). In the end I think the democratic party might just lose florida NOT because of bitter feelings (that's absurd) but becuase no campaigning was done here.

Both Clinton and Obama (especially Obama) have a strong history of increasing new voter registrations and exciting turnout during this primary. There are a lot of people hurting here. McCain will get the religious right in central florida but the 100's of thousands of young people, the numbers of people living on the coast who were feeling *no pain* three years ago is WAY UP. Its wide open fro democrats this year.

TOO BAD we DIDN'T have a revote. I think it could have been what would have excited FL voters and actually swung the state BLUE in November. Now, who knows?

(BTW this is ANOTHER reason i would love to see hillary stay in the race and ALL 10 states campaigned in before we have a nominee - its what's good for the PARTY).

OBAMA or HILLARY must make it their FIRST PRIORITY as nominee to campaign here and in Michigan. Sign em up, get 'em excited...then we win the state.

  • The ad is pathetic and is an obviously strapped for cash

[Read the article: McCain camp debuts new Web ad]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That has to be the worst produced political ad i have EVER seen!

Those composited photos lapped on top of blurry irrelevant 'montage images" looks like something the local $500 wedding videographer put together! And SMOKE? (As in the country going UP IN SMOKE if he's elected? As in SMOKING? Maybe he thinks its the 50's and its cool to smoke who knows?)

OR maybe the people producing these videos are closet democrats. These are SO BAD it could be argued!!

  • Single Payer

[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]

Yes tort reform has to be at the core of any single payer system... after all it is not surprising that many doctors charge what they do to cover exorbitant malpractice insurance costs. A small hospital in my area shut down its OB/GYN department after the three doctors there decided they could no longer afford to practice profitably.

Limits on recoveries would be a good start.

In FL (as it may be elsewhere.. it don't know) there's a cap on what you can recover if you sue the State. Anything additional has to be approved by the legislature. I think that would be a good place to start. The lawyers won't like it but... nobody really cares. LOL

Don't despair. I'm no fan of Armstrong either but our kids are lost. There's no value in excellence anymore because everyone is OK, no matter what.

Its socialistic, frankly. Why work heard if everyone passes and everyone gets a trophy? Who cares? Why bother learning anything or striving for excellence? Self-esteem is not supported by victory divorced from effort. Ever.

    uh, FIRST the primary.

    THEN the election.

He's busy trying to wrap up this primary right now. There'll be plenty of time to face McCain head on, should he win the nomination.

McCain needs publicity so he *creates words* with Obama who has no problem getting attention. How smart of the lackluster McCain campaign strategists. If Obama ignored his comments, it wouldn;t have even made news.

    OH DEWLL

I guess we have to wait until we have a nominee before we can bather taking him on headfirst with full force.

  • Clinton has problems

8 Million in unpaid bills?! YIKES! Does this include the loan repayment of the 5 million she loaned herself made a month ago? What about the absolute squandering of all that money she had at the beginning. WTF is going on???!!! I mean, serious? HOW IS THIS HAPPENING? Serious, is somebody embezzling money from her campaign? WTF!?

This is who we should trust managing our national budget and tackling a 5 trillion dollar deficit? uh, oookkkkaaaayyy....not.
