  • After all

We love to watch the might fall in the country but more than that we love to forgive when they admit they're wrong.

Outside of that highly unlikely scenario, Wright will haunt Obama if he ends up with the nomination and may cost the Democrats the election.

    Sigh.

I'd like to believe you...I really would. But I think you underestimate how easily people snap to judgements and how impossible it is to get them to think rationally when their deepest values are challenged.

Or need I remind you of George Bush's Second Term in Office?

  • Yeah unless...

...they mobilize around to keep that "America Hating Secret Black Panther Muslim Subversive" out of office to protect the American Way of Life.

If you think your head was about to explode when the Wright thing broke last week, wait until you see the utter foolishness they will concoct in time for November. And ask yourself if Billy Bob Machine Worker Democrat with three American Flags on the bumper of his F250 is going to BUY it. (I'm not suggesting TRUTH I'm suggesting BUYING INTO the marketing message the repub will relentlessly pound out). I'm simply saying - maybe. And that scares the bejeezus out of me because we need Old Billy Bob to win the White House.

All i'm saying is that we need to not gloss over this whole Wright thing. It has the potential to be a HUGE HUGE problem. Way bigger than it is amongst ourselves (on are ostensibly the same team).

  • Red..no to SC

I never thought for a minute the Clintons were racists. AND I don't for a minute think the SC incident and the Clintons being called racists was put out there by the Obama CAMPAIGN.

Problem is: there are lots of very zealous folks on both sides all too ready to read something into every freaking word. I'm so sick of it. THEN the press jumps all over it in order to satisfy its 24/7 breaking news habit.

Frankly there a lot of shit that has happened on both sides that i don't think camp from the CAMPAIGNS but from the crazier contingents of followers within both their camps.

  • But it does leave me to wonder

Bill Clinton is not a racist but he is a smart and astute politician - one who has been around the block more than a few times. No neophyte.

If he KNOWS the game why say something that even has the potential to be misconstrued?

I think it was an honest misspeak that was over analyzed to DEATH but it could have been an overall strategy too. Who knows?

Remember in the beginning Barak wanted to be careful NOT to be seen as the black candidate but as a candidate who happened to be black? (can't win with only the black vote)

IF he bacame the black (person's) candidate he would suffer.

I don't know...I mean as a strategy, it would have been brilliant, if not cunningly Rovian. But I'm not prepared to think there was really all that to it.

    Come on, really.

Obviously Clinton said that before the TX primary to maybe try to geta few undecided voters to feel as if they would get a two-fer if they voted for him.

Surely you can't be that blind to not understand that politcial move (a very wise one i think, frankly)

And for him it would have been political suicide to to say "hey, yeah. that woudl work". He is still running for the Presidential spot, after all. Even if he wanted to accept it it would have been really crazy for him to do it at that time and in that manner, especially considering the contest up until that point.

Now maybe you don't feel as though he should be running for the presidency - and that's ok. Its your opinion. I'm not knocking you on it.

But come on, we both (presumably) have brains in our heads. We know what that whole exchange was about. Come on. Be real.

    Read it. So what?

I understand what you;re saying and what the article asserts. The truth is that a lot of it is opinion based on position. I'm no Clinton fan, believe me but i do like to think i am open minded and analytical. I'm not prone to histrionics about Clinton Obama, quite frankly.

Perhaps it was intentional. Perhaps not. I really have no definitive way to tell.

Besides, it really doesn't much matter. The events happened as they did. So be it.

Hillary is far from my favorite gal. I support Obama but I am absolutely opposed to McCain. Get my drift?

    Try to remain reasonable.
