[Read more letters about this article: Here]That was one of the best political cartoons I've seen in a long time. Well done!

So funny
[Read the article: Huckabee jokes about gun being aimed at Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ha, ha. Joking about a hypothetical political assassination to the nation's largest and rabid pro-gun organization is so funny. So lighten up folks and make some jokes about assassinating George Bush and enjoy it when the FBI and homeland security show up at your front door to detain you.
/snark off>
It takes a pretty warped mind to think that sort of joke is appropriate under any circumstances, much less publicly when addressing the NRA.

Hmm...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Something tells me Mr. Bolling is the father of at least one teenager. And speaking as the father of two, I'm compelled to say that while this week's strip isn't as wonderful as his last Nate the neocon foray, it is damn funny and accurate.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I can even tell you about the time my brother took me to see the Clash."
I'll do you one better. I'll tell Keith about the time I saw the Clash in San Francisco. What a show. On their opening song they drew so much power the circuit breakers blew and all the stage power and lights went out.
On the other hand, I don't have the Cyclone as an attractant.

Explanation needed
[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm very confused about one claim in particular from Clinton supporters. Several letter writers have said that Obama himself was unfair or disrespectful towards Clinton. Could you please be specific about what these offenses were?
I've seen a lot of back and forth for the last couple of months between (what I consider) rabid Clinton and Obama supporters, with intemperate words flying between both sides. But I'll be damned if I can pinpoint any clear cases in the last two months or even throughout the campaign where Obama himself was disrespectful. He's gone out of his way to pay tribute to Clinton's strength, tenacity, worthiness as an opponent, etc. So what is the beef with Obama himself?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Please provide the sources for the items that you cited, particularly the quotations from Obama.
I'm avidly interested in politics and had never even heard the comments by Jesse Jackson, Jr. When were they made? Was Obama even running for President when they were made?
Holding the chair for Clinton is an awfully minor slight, if you want to see it that way. I held my daughter's chair for her when we went out to dinner after she graduated from high school last week. Do I need to apologize to her for that?
Please provide a link or some sort of tracable citation for the Wright statement. I have not heard it.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Do your own homework on the other quotes, they are widely available on the internet."
I'm a professional scientist, so I know how the citation game works. If I raise a point in a paper or a talk based on what someone else has said or published, it's my responsibility to provide my readers/listeners with the source. Not the other way around. If you're going to claim Obama has been seriously disrespectful toward Clinton, it's up to you to provide the means of verifying your claims, not me.
As for the chair-holding incident. If this ticks you off enough to not vote for Obama, so be it. From my point of view, it is too minor to waste much time on. Clinton can hold a chair for him and we'll call it even, if it matters that much to you.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Are people this nuts? Or is this just more extra crispy buckets of STUPID caused by too much primary rancor?"
I understand your feelings rw. My simple take on all of this.
Some of the posters are real Obama or Clinton supporters who have gotten a too emotionally wrapped up in the campaigns and their candidates. However, it is also very likely there are several/many trolls/Republican operatives here who are deliberately trying to stir the pot. Remember, if they can get the folks that support the policies of Obama and Clinton (which are very close, after all) to be angry enough to not vote in November, it works in their favor.
Keep your eye on the prize in November and beyond, and let the loonies of all stripes waste their time and energy on each other. Their lack of constructive effort isn't worth your effort either.

KStone
OK folks. That was a clear admission of bad intent and a lack of desire to engage others with sincerity and good will. Best to just ignore KStone's future posts until s/he demonstrates a different attitude.

Hoping this holds
[Read the article: Gauging the Latino vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's a blessing of sorts that McCain is apparently being dragged down with Hispanic voters by his being a Republican. Ironicaly, immigration is the one policy issue that he and Obama actually are very close on. It will be very interesting over the next several months to see whether McCain is able to ameliorate Hispanic voters concerns or whether the fact that he is on the ticket of an anti-immigration party will ultimately sink him with them.
