I have a problem with people viewing, "liberals" as wastebuckets simply because they've sponsored ideas in the past that ended in failure.

Okay, making life too easy is not good for the human body or the human mind. Especially as it ages. Being flabby is just unhealthy whether it is in thought or deed.

But it does NOT follow that we destroy public education and free access to quality higher education, suspend habeas corpus, cut off all social welfare and send children off to die in wars under false pretenses. That's bullshit.

It would be just as valid a solution for the poor to unite, locate all wealthy elites, and have them drawn and quartered in front of their children. Or have the children drawn and quartered in front of the parents. Class warfare is class warfare whether it is the rich who are the oppressors, or the poor majority.

Back from the tangential issue, Imus' behavior is a problem because he advocates intolerance, whether directly or indirectly, to tens of millions of people who aren't educated well enough to discern the difference between satire and social policy.

Back TO the seeming tangential issue: the problem was the dumbing down and dismantling of education that started in the 1980's under Reagan. We need better educated people.
