Controversial Preachers
[Read the article: The crazy uncles in Obama's attic]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You know, it's really pretty damn ironic, isn't it? Jesus was a controversial preacher with the ability to inflame his critics and shock his followers. Sometimes he even got a little physical, like that time he booted the merchants out of the temple. It really makes me wonder about those righteous right-wingers and their followers...if Jesus actually was sitting among them now, they might not recognize him.
But whatever...I was so inspired by all this "controversy" I sent a check to TUCC as an Easter gift, and an identical one to the Obama campaign.

Michigan and Florida vote stats
[Read the article: Getting ready for the long, long haul]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There are only two states who have held primaries where the Republican ballots cast surpassed the Democrats count: Michigan and Florida. Lots of Democrats stayed home in both places.

Greenspan? good god NO!
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's plan to fix the economy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A good portion of the mess we are in can be layed directly at the doorstep of Alan Greenspan. Why on earth would she want him to have any say in this now?
Greenspan loved all the Bush tax cuts, and didn't much mind the increasing deficits until after he retired.
Greenspan had oversight authority on the banking industry, and could have inacted regulations on the sub-prime mortgage lenders, but didn't.
Greenspan could have cooled the housing market by raising interest rates, but didn't do that either.
What does she think Greenspan will do now?

That was a mouthful!
[Read the article: Matthews rails against "Clinton-centric world" ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Matthews trumped both Carville's "Judas" remark and McPeak's "Joe McCarthy" punch-line.

Unpatriotic!
[Read the article: Lieberman's unusual take on "the facts"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Lieberman's comparison of Iraqi and American political reconciliation is nothing short of unpatriotic. He should be ashamed, but I bet he's not because he's wearing his lapel pin.

News from Indiana
[Read the article: Did the "bitter" flap affect the race?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just released LA Times/Bloomberg polls shows Obama ahead now:
"the poll found Clinton trails Obama by 5 points in Indiana"
and
"The survey found the New York senator leading Barack Obama by just 5 percentage points in Pennsylvania"
and
"In North Carolina, an Obama stronghold, he is running 13 points ahead."

Negative? sure...
[Read the article: Clinton pollster urges senator to go relentlessly negative]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's worked wonders for her thus far. So much so she's now trailing in Indiana, her reputation for honest is in the toilet, and she proving herself to be unelectable. So keep going, Hillary, by all means.

The loser
[Read the article: Worst. Debate. Ever?]

Why hasn't SHE put HIM away?
[Read the article: What Pennsylvania tells us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I keep hearing this question going in the other direction, but really now....
Clinton came in to this primary season with a ton of cash, institutional support and name recognition spanning decades. Why didn't she put him away long ago? It doesn't add up that she is more electable when she's been held back by the junior Senator from IL who came out of nowhere.
Clinton for VP!

What Clyburn did
[Read the article: Clyburn hits Clintons on tactics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]is to publicly vocalize what's been transversing the internet and the blogosphere for the last couple of weeks. There have been lots of pundits writing and talking about Hillary making a come back in 2012. Chris Matthews even discussed this idea openly. The only way she can do that is for Obama to lose. If she kneecaps him, it sets it up. This is not a stretch. Hillary is nothing if she's not ambitious. The Clinton's overestimated the goodwill of the Democrats towards them. Just like she overestimated her inevitability, and therefore, underplanned her campaign.
-
Why?
[Read the article: Clyburn hits Clintons on tactics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why won't Hillary Clinton speak out and condemn the Republican ad that's going to hit the air waves next week? The NC state Repub party say they are aiming at state level Dems. Obviously, their aim is more inclusive than that. But still, why is she silent in the face of an attack on HER PARTY?
In case anyone's forgotten, Bill Clinton was not a coalition builder. The Dems lost lots of seats under him, both the Senate and the House, Governorships, state legislators. Seems like Hillary is following his example. That is why she is not getting the nomination. Period.
