He Man Woman Haters Club

I think the guy just slipped you the rubber peach. "Prove to me you're not a sissy: Were you in 'Nam, Man?" and its equivalents go back to time immemorial.

I think you're being hosed.

Nobody's that stupid on purpose.

Okay, but

I think its morally wrong to say that Richard Cohen has said something right, even if its true.

He probably had a despicable motivation for saying it. Or he mis-spoke.

Christ, when is WaPo going to get a move on with those pink slips?

Craig

When did government officials stop the wonderfully effective process of resigning on grounds of principle [the Saturday Night Massacre?) and how can we get them to start doing it again? Craig's belated explanations don't help anything now, as anyway its as plain as day what has happened.

And yes, a draft would be good, but it ain't happening, nor is David Obey's War Tax Surcharge, which would bring home the true cost of what our meddling in other countries is costing us. Nice ideas though.

Old Crab Monday

Yes, its clear that if we hadn't tried those cases in NY so many years ago, Bin Laden would have developed Alzeimers and forgotten where the Towers are, forgotten that we then had 1/2 million troops in Saudi Arabia, forgotten that we had killed thousands of children in Iraq with our quarantine, forgotten that we propped up the Saudi government, and totally forgotten about Israel grabbing up all the land they want, with our money and acquiescence.

The man is notoriously forgetful, and these new trials will clearly jog his memory again. Perhaps a case of bourbon delivered at the right time would help mitigate the damage?

When I see GG, day after day, forced to debunk the arguments of idiots like McCarthy, I think of the National Lampoon cartoon of William Buckley in Hell, forced to debate morons for all eternity.

And what's with the conspiracy theorists? Why are they attracted to this site? Is reality not horrifying enough?

Squaresville

Thanks for the post - Bernie Sanders is one of the very few I trust down there, to a point. If the GOP is going to support this in a block, maybe in a few months we will truly get Grayson's "Waterloo."

Of course, the GOP is always gung ho for investigations and transparency in alternate presidencies. There will probably be partisan push back on those grounds, at which time we'll see if the Boxers and the Leahys stick around.

It would be a fascinating signing ceremony, though. [Maybe in subdued surroundings, like McCain-Feingold?]

Seriousness

"'Today was Waterloo for Fed secrecy,' a victorious Grayson said afterwards."

Part of Seriousness is not declaring victory prematurely. Good for Grayson and Paul, but how many of those votes were there because they don't believe anything is getting through the Senate, and how many Democratic votes are staying once they are told that this is a disguised right wing attack against their president? And how many of the reactionary financiers of the tea party 'movement' want their money to go for this? And all that Wall Street money now being diverted to Republicans - do the money guys want their bitches of either party supporting this?

A qualified "Hurrah!"

Kitt

Well, that tears it. Anyone who plays banjo or fiddle at any level of competence, in my book is above reproach. I hereby withdraw any perceived criticisms and ask that they be purged from the record.

That youtube guy made it look deceptively easy, didn't he?

Kitt

I'm not a died or dyed in the wool Obama apologist - he wasn't my first choice - except to the extent that I don't see how we were ever getting anything better than this compromise political decision. I don't object to the criticism - why would I read this everyday if this were true? I agree with much of it, but don't think its going to happen. Have you been watching the health care debacle? The cha cha over Afghanistan?

Criticize away. I wish there were a Kitt Show on the Greenwald Network, which knocked Glen Beck off the air. Better yet, I wish I saw even a tiny fraction of the scholarship and passion for the constitution from this website in my everyday dealings with people. We're kidding ourselves that these noble ideals were ever all that widespread. Why aren't the people in Texas demanding that the Gov. resign for helping cover up the murder of an innocent man by the State? How about those citizens of Illinois whose prosecutor cares more about harassing students than checking to whether she is railroading an innocent man?

In what country was Obama going to order fair trials for all suspects and release the ones who were acquitted, and remain president? Not this one. That's my apology.

Bearpaw1

You're objecting to my sarcastic remark responding to your sarcastic remark?

You're going to have to do better than that if you want to grow up to be Kitt some day.
