To the "Of course I will vote for him no matter what" crowd

He'll get my vote, for obvious reasons. But not my heart. He lost that these past few weeks.

-- kovie

I think you all should just create a permanent blog comment signature that says some version of the above. So that you never forget to mention it and folks with a brain can see the absurdity of it all.

I don't believe you kovie

One, I never said "no matter what". You put those words in my mouth. -- kovie

Ok, since supporting the further destruction of the constitution isn't reason enough, I respectively request you to name something that would cause you to no longer vote for him. What else are you willing to rationalize away? Something realistic. Like say changing his position on the occupation of Iraq (which btw is what?). Just one but you can't fib now. Think about it a minute and get back to us.

Kitt

And you should "create a permanent blog comment signature" that says "I am Adnoto the Great, with a brain. I know everything and will march on Washington to solve the world's problems. I am the Great Adnoto, with a brain!" -- Kitt

What's the mailing address (with room number please) to your asylum for the mentally impaired? I have some Dick and Jane books that my nephew used to read that I would gladly send you.

Address please and again, don't forget the room number.

Ah well...

Although you don't even qualify to be called a purity troll. Just an everyday, garden variety troll, lying around in the tall grass, waiting for someone new to pounce on while sitting around getting fat--uous in your hilariously unearned self-importance. -- kovie

You are correct about one thing. I have gained a few pounds lately. Troll though? Are you sure? Tell me Kovie which type of trolls are these guys? Standard or purity?

Don't start fibbing now sweety

I don't enjoy this crap with you but I must say that no matter if I tried for all that I am worth to point out what an empty rhetoric filled jerk you are. -- Kitt

Oh come on Kitt... you know you enjoy it. Remember your fantasies about me "stocking" you?

As for you not being able to successfully point out what an "empty rhetoric filled jerk" I am, despite trying for all you are worth... well, you ain't worth much. Work on being worth more and you may be more successful.

Timothy

There are many ways to voice one's political view; shouting down the cops in a public street isn't the only one. -- Timothy3

No, it isn't the only way. It isn't even the best way. Who said anything about shouting? I say we buy them ice cream.

So I say leave the guns at home "first" and that really means bring them? Interesting. I have, previously (maybe not here I can't recall), actually said let's get some guns and do this! Was that code for let's take some direct action in the vein of MLK or Gandhi?

Most people don't want to hear anything about direct action. It's all too frightening. So they attempt to marginalize those advocating it by twisting things and shouting it down with "they are crazy DFH's who want to cause violence and mayhem!" People do this because they are primarily cowards who willfully ignore history in order to feel better about their own lack of action in the face of tyranny. It's ok. I understand all of this and I can take it.

There are indeed many ways to voice one's political views. How is way of the LOTE working out for us so far? How has it worked out for us (or any other group of unwashed masses) over the course of history? The problem with most people is that they greatly overestimate their importance to the establishment. In our case, the corporate/congressional/executive/MIC has trained us. We are domesticated cattle. Voting and hoping, chewing our cud. They are not wary of us. Until they become so, nothing changes.

GG

Obama's statement

Wondering if I should post this or -- given that there's nothing new in it -- just let it be.. GG

If you are actually asking. I would vote for you posting your comment (the one with the header I quoted) in its entirety as an "update." I know it would make the original post very long but it is worth it IMO. You breaking down his BS, point by point, is worth it.

GG and bystander

But, maybe EJ and adnoto feel differently.

-- bystander

No, I agree. I was hoping he would do just as you said (if I read you correctly). Put it up front and center for all to see. Heck make a new post out of it. I understand not wanting to bump the current post but, IMO, the update deserves more exposure.

Mike

Obama's Statement

Who the hell did he write that for?

It was not for us; he has to know that we are smart enough to recognize it for the crap it is. -- Mike Sulzer

I don't know Mike but this:

The ability to monitor and track individuals who want to attack the United States is a vital counter-terrorism tool, and I'm persuaded that it is necessary to keep the American people safe -- particularly since certain electronic surveillance orders will begin to expire later this summer.

Combined with this:

Democracy cannot exist without strong differences. And going forward, some of you may decide that my FISA position is a deal breaker.

Seems like a sure sign that his comments are, at least in part, intended for the know-nothing "moderates" and other simpletons that he believes he needs to pander to. They don't know what's going on and are filled with so much corporate media garbage that they will probably respond well to the idea that he will "keep them safe" and they will also appreciate the fact that he is fighting those crazed leftists.
