Is the Truth un-America?-- bucky1
Yes, as far as wingnuts are concerned, the truth is actually un-American. The reality (truth) that America and Americans are not exceptional and indeed America is, in fact, an evil empire by any reasonable definition of the phrase, makes it so. If the truth doesn't follow the American exceptionalism script, it is "un-American." Just as anyone who doesn't wear a flag lapel pin and/or have a yellow ribbon magnet is unpatriotic.
Wingnuts know very little about our history and when presented with the truth of it they simply lie, deny and/or make it up as they go along. They do this primarily in an effort to confuse, muddle, distract, deceive, etc. Their specialty, however, is self-deceit. It is fundamental to who they are. They are who M. Scott Peck was referring to when he wrote People of the Lie. In short, at least by one definition, they are simply - evil.

Stop supporting them.We have to stop making this profitable for the warmongers. The only way to do this is to hurt those responsible for the war economically. --rupert_c
That isn't even close to "the only way" to put a stop to it. You think you are somehow going to be able to use capitalism against itself to accomplish that goal? This is a huge problem we face in this country. The average citizen has been indoctrinated into a delusional belief that "the free market" is beneficial to them. The idea that Democracy is capitalism and vise versa.
While I agree that we need to stop making war profitable there is only one real way to do that. Gen. Butler had the right idea in his book War Is A Racket but his ideas can only be implemented by our government through laws and regulation. A government who is and has been in bed with those very profiteers. A true people's government is the only thing powerful enough to put an end to all of this. No, voting with your wallet isn't remotely the "only way." It isn't even a good way. I can think of several other ways to put the fear of the people into them. Use your imagination, maybe you can come up with some too.
This guy could be our next great general.
