Chris Floyd

As I recall, adnoto also got fed up with Chris Floyd when Chris substituted for Glenn awhile back. -- bystander

Actually, I am a big fan of Chris Floyd. Not that it matters now but, just for clarification's sake, that whole thing with Mr. Floyd is on me. I was waaaayyy off there. That day, for some reason, I just couldn't mentally digest what he was getting at and I completely misread him. I simply dropped the ball and flaked out. It took me awhile to recover the few wits I have left and by then I was too embarrassed and angry at myself to follow up. I did send him a private apology but I received no response from him so I am not sure if he received it or not.

Sneer at ya'll later.

BTW, what was up with Chris' site yesterday? Interesting graphic, but it sure wasn't Empire Burlesque.

Floyd's personal website was hacked yesterday. Probably by some 12 kid from Germany (given the language of the hack page).

And, I really don't think I earned [Space here for Jefferson quote that everyone is ignoring]. Actually, I did try to respond to this, and took the thread off topic in the process.

That part of the post wasn't directed at you necessarily. I used the Jefferson quote all day yesterday as a sort of sig banner and was just making a separate point. That Jefferson quote was very much on topic in my opinion but I wouldn't worry too much about going "off topic" if I were you... who cares? We might as well discuss the merits of Poodle hybrids for all the good blog comments are doing in the world.

Since you're a runner, if you haven't already seen it, you might appreciate the link at my sig.-- bystander

Interesting article. I am with the person (doctor?) quoted at the end of the article. Tired muscles are a warning sign intended to get us to ease up or stop before we truly do some damage.

I have a question....

What is the difference between the keyboard warriors who see "Islamofascism" as the greatest threat to our civilization, and the keyboard warriors who see BushCo, the MIC and rising domestic fascism as the greatest threat to our civilization?

I mean, I know one fundamental difference is that the former is delusional and the latter is correct, but, in the end, what is the difference? Neither group is willing to actually shoulder a weapon and put their ass on the line for democracy/liberty.

Thoughts?

I hate to ask again but...

Really? No responses? Interesting. I guess the truth must be that neither is a potential threat to our way of life.

Thanks for the answer

Unlike the others you mention, the Bush-haters feel that our present sent of laws and politics has within it all the civil social and legal power to eliminate Bush and his cronies and their policies from the American government.

Ok. So the people who fashion and enforce the "rule of law" will stop the insanity and save us. Got it. BushCo, congress and the MIC aren't that serious of a threat because they realize how evil they are and will soon impeach and/or imprison themselves/each other. That's good to know.

*sigh*

What is a patriot to do?

The question is ....

What the hell can we do about it? I have called, I have written, I have written letters to the editor.

Shoukd we take to the streets? -- Pastafarians Unite!

No, no. Taking to the streets will only make things worse. Someone might actually have their rights violated or even be hurt. The best thing you - all of us - can do is to complain here in the UT comments section. If Glenn writes enough and we sit on the sidelines long enough, eventually our representatives will begin policing themselves. I mean, it's not as though they are bad people. They obviously want what is best for the American people. Just look at how far they are willing to go to protect us! Just give them time. When Hillary gets into office everything will be better - you'll see. In the meantime, if I may be so bold, I suggest you go shopping. True patriots shop.

Standing

Saying that a group lacks standing is weird, as if standing can be diluted until it doesn't exist. ...

Accusations can appear to come out of nowhere. In what way shouldn't the public have standing?

I don't find it weird at all. Just par for the course if you ask me. We (the public) don't count and haven't for some time. We continue to allow it, so it contnues.

GMAFB

@ L.W.M.

You really must stop making these fine distinctions. It interferes with our narrative of desperation, and forces us to incorporate a calculus of chaos and entropy into our otherwise orderly laments.

Shame! ;-)

-- William Timberman

Spoken like an oh so "serious" gutless, douchebag.

It's all fun and games ain't it?

All you "good Germans" rally around Timberman and LWM... the old-school fiddlers. By the time they say "uh-oh" it is going to be way too fucking late.

I actually despise you demeaning, shriveled old prunes more than BushCo.
