Nice idea

I am left to conclude that no one in the senate is really serious about any of this, even Dodd. Sure, they give nice speeches. But if they believed what they were saying they would do something. Stage some acts of creative civil disobedience in the senate to bring attention to such an important issue. If soldiers are willing to die for America, why can't these people even embarass themselves in front of their colleagues for America? I spit on all of them. -- Jkalos

Hear, hear!

But.. why would they, if we won't?

The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson

Keyboard warriors unite!

Allow me to suggest that the way you're going about it is not working. People generally don't respond well to being talked down to.... -- Paul Daniel Ash

You write this^^^

Allow me to suggest that the way you're going about it is not working. People generally don't respond well to being shown their idiocy.... -- Paul Daniel Ash

I read this^^^ (and I laugh). No offense PDA but you have to be kidding with that "civility in discourse" horse-shit.

Serious... well, it is that

This is actually a serious question. -- Paul Daniel Ash

And I am sure the honorable elephantmen will come through with an oh so serious answer shortly.

Everyone watch your screen with bated breath. The elephantmantisimo cometh!

Well said...

Was that better? -- Paul Daniel Ash

Much better actually. I could have written that myself... You went a bit overboard with the cursing but it reads like me otherwise. I think I have found a friend.

The picture isn't up there because "we lost." It is up there because they had the balls to make a stand and that stand was, in part, what the the pols of the day remembered in '73. You think our current crop are concerned about your ballyhoo with that piece of shit you are arguing with? No, and, as you have said, you know it. He is a distraction. Arguing with him makes people feel as though they are accomplishing something. They aren't.

I am of the mind that the internets are an action inhibitor. Greenwald just said he cornered Dodd and that Dodd got defensive. What did anyone expect? The guy didn't do anything in the first place. They are all talk, the lot of them... and so are we.

Hey I gave up on this place and the American people along time ago. I just took the day off today and decided I would come here and sneer (h/t bystander). Like I said I am here for the popcorn and the laughs.

I admit haven't been paying much attention lately but....

You are aware, aren't you, that Dodd's original filibuster was caused directly by blogs and online grassroots activists, with Glenn Greenwald foremost among them? -- Jordan Orlando

What filibuster?? You mean the completely inconsequential "hold" that no one respected? Did I miss something? When did Dodd take control of the Senate floor and not give it up until he was dragged from the chamber kicking and screaming? Anyone have a youtube of that? Because I can't believe I missed it. No? Well like I said before..why should we expect him to do it when we won't?

Ok, how about that nice video where he quotes our very own Glenn Greenwald! Man that sure was great.

*PDA, maybe you will like this pic better. He "won"*
