My Catholic school upbringing in the 50s pounded this
firmly in my head--the baby must always live. It wasn't
until I was in my 20s and having my own children that
I realized it was a MALE-DOMINATED CHURCH AND GOVT
writing these rules and laws, males who had never been
pregnant, males who saw nothing at all wrong with other
males abandoning their responsibilities, and males who
are control freaks--most of them. Let us not forget
the YES WOMEN who swallowed, believed and passed on
the fear mongering preached by all their male authorities.
I have yet to understand how or why women continue to
allow men to control their bodies in any way, shape or form.
It baffles me. It baffles me further when you hear about
fathers abandoning the child/children, constantly running
to avoid paying child support, and very little is said
about it. Even if laws are made, they're not enforced.
It is nobody's damned business what I or any woman does
with our bodies. Why aren't Randal Terry and Pat Robertson
and the other Pro-Lifers getting pissed about the fathers
who abandon their children??? To me that's worse than
any abortion. You bet UR-86 is funny scary especially when
you see the daily headlines of another man getting rid of
his UNWANTED WIFE. History repeats itself over and over
again, and warped minds never ever change.
My favorite thing to do on my day off is browse through my local bookstore.
Over the years I've SPENT a lot of money there. Just as I entered Barnes
and Noble today I was slapped in the face by a lifesize display of AC's
latest book, 'Goddess'. Here she is on the cover staring seductively out at all her
adoring public, which must be all horny old men. She looks like she's posing
for Penthouse or Playboy magazine, so that should tell you right there the woman
does not have anything of any substance to say. Are her publishers selling sex or
politics? I gather from the cross she's boldly wearing that she is religious.
Hmmm? Wonder if she wears that lowcut little black dress topped off with the
cross in her bare cleavage to church on Sundays? Wonder how many family values
Republicans peruse the book when they're shopping at B&N with their children?
I look for B&N to start displaying the National Enquirer or The Globe or some of
those other trashy supermarket tabloids right up front. It will be a very long
time before I make another purchase there, if ever.
