@readerreader

My Nigerian, Ghanian,a nd Somali friends make fun of the "witchcraft" people when they don't try to stop them. That accusation is used to steal stuff, and educated Africans DO NOT accept it. They see it as prima facie evidence of stupidity and rapacity (the way we see it here). So racking on it is fair game.

What ticks me off is this Red Scare guilt by association thing. People forget the Red Scare, McCarthyism, and HUAC. Arthur Miller, Kazan, the blacklist? The lives ruined? To say "terrorist" today is like "communist" then. Kazan undermined his legacy of genius by naming names. McCarthy is known as a corrupt ideologue who indifferent ruined people's lives and found NOT ONE Communist. And the "reformed" Communists got plaudits.

To call Obama a terrorist is to trivialize terror and treason. I remember two traitors in my lifetime; one at the CIA, Aldrich Ames, and one at the FBI, Hanssen. They masqueraded as conservatives (the classic cover- not as a liberal). They got people killed. They passed on secrets. Obama ran a foundation with someone he knew professionally. I have worked with people I disagree with politically. The whole argument is dumb to people who actually work and think. I'm a moderate military historian. Does that mean my socialist colleagues is a closet militarist because he works with me?

McCain needs to dial it back. I voted for him in the past. Never again. I am disgusted. Palin is the very defintion of evil: beautiful, vicious, and leading people to riot. She is trying to incite riot with this stuff, and God help anyone around if she finally succeeds. She's no Christian.

Original article: Semisweet "Chocolate News"

SOme of us do know who Tavis Smiley is

I think the problem is that the reviewer doesn't get the "in" jokes. A rant on Ice Cube selling out? I'm there. I may crib material. 50 Cent sold out the minute he showed up. And the touchy Afrocentric types- I had a fight with one two weeks ago. I'll be watching to get material for round two.

I am a middle class black, a "bougie" black. I got all of the references. I suspect it will be like "In Living Color" when we all called each other and said "Did they really do that?" My white colleagues did NOT get that show. I dare say it's the same thing all over again.

Work on your self esteem

You can do better. Why do you think this kind of sneaking around and distrust is love? Do you like that frisson and electricity from uncertainty? Do you get bored from stability?

You are with a woman with known fidelity issues. Not trusting her is rational. Being with her is NOT rational. You can do better.

Go to a counselor and see why you think this is the best you deserve.

Original article: Palin booed at Flyers game

@twinmom1120

Now, as for calling poor, misguided, ill-informed THawk (I really hope it is not Tony) a troll, let's remember, we are all The Flying Spaghetti Monster's creatures, and trolls deserve love, too.

SUperb. Yet the monster did not endow all of us equally with sanity. We must take care of the creatures so afflicted.

The increasing hysteria is rather funny.

Voter caging in Wisconsin

It's happening here. Out AG is trying to purge voters as well. He's catching hell for it.

Diebold machines and a tape from Osama I can see. Bin Laden does NOT want a Barack Obama presidency. A terrorist attack would backfire, because it would undermine the "Iraq keeps us safe" meme.

AL Qaeda is acting up in Iraq, attacking Christians again. By Oct 28th, Osama will try to influence this. I've put money down.

How many people will be stupid enough to fall for it?

And since Palin has been poking the crazy, that's a possibility.

Obama needs to be up by 20 points to be safe. He is not safe now.

It would be more effective

to run an ad asking why the GOP and Hannity are in bed with anti-Semitic anti-Israeli nutjob? This dude is on video in other places - I've actually heard of him. He's a legend ( not in a good way) in New York). Grab some of his greatest hits, show him with Hannity in the lovefest, and ask why. Run it in Florida, Ohio, and New York.

Shouting over Hannity is far less effective than such an ad. Hannity's show reaches about 5 million true believers (in a country of 300 million+.) One ad could put him in his place and put his adoring fans in a bind. A TV show like Family Guy or Desperate Housewives gets far more viewers, and they are not the type to like anti-Semitism.

I agree that if it's guilt by association, McCain has far more to lose from G. Gordon Liddy. Actually, I'd love to see a full investigation into Liddy. I suspect he's a liar about his secret ops background (because if he was accurate, his raggedy tail would not have been caught). Hagee, the anti-Catholic minister, is not a good associate for McCain, either. Keating bought him for $112,000. SHouldn't he have known better?

You don't want to start the guilt by association game. I serve on a board. I do not know half of the people on it. To accuse me of endorsing them would be stupid. People who actually serve on boards and projects are laughing at the Ayers attack. We all work with people we don't necessarily agree with. That's life for adults. Maybe the point is that Palin and Co have never had real jobs and don't get this.

Original article: Tie goes to the runner

I saw it as a tie

They answered the question they wanted it to be, not always the question actually asked. The lack of follow up and rebuttals was a problem. I screamed at both candidates several times.

This will solidify the race, but I don't think it will change it.

No one answered the questions straight up

I was ticked. Just answer the damn questions. I hated this "town hall", although I loved the woman who asked how could either be trusted after voting for the bailout.

Stop bashing each other and answser the damn questions.
