I did. The NPF "safe days" right after the period are theoretical.
As for birth control pills, many things impact effectiveness. Stress, antibiotics, some herbs, drinking milk before taking them (affects absorption), etc.
I'm happily pregnant now, and I want the baby. I'm also going to be honest. It does NOT look like a baby until well into the second trimester. Right now it looks like a mutated peanut. It has a tail until around ten weeks! Saying that should not make anyone be considered evil. Most babies are pretty ugly when they are first born, too. Do I lose my good mommy pass?
I aympathize with BB. In the first trimester, you can be nauseated, weak, extremely tired, faint, and any number of other unpleasant symptoms. To have those symptoms without wanting the baby would be awful. I'm willing to make this sacrifice because we want the baby. Feeling like this without wanting it (including having trouble sleeping, gas pains, ligament pains, constipation, etc) would be a problem. Having just gone through an ectopic pregnancy scare (which can kill you) due to pain gives me more sympathy for BB.
I hope that BB will be OK. I hope she will have no complications.
Are you really trying to say normal men do this? Really? Are you truly insulting normal, sane men this way? Do you realize how man-bashing what YOU said is?
No normal man does this. This is the action of sick puppies. I work with wonderful, sane, amazing men, and they think what you wrote was a massive insult to men.
You owe a whole bunch of good men an apology. If this is something you would contemplate doing to a woman, I know a bunch of MEN who will castrate you.
You really have a low opinion of your own sex. That's truly sad. There are so many truly good men out there.
It does NOT kill fertilized embryos. I think that was satire (I hope)!
It can fail. Not all women get the same symptoms with ovulation. My maternity nurse and OB-GYN pointed out that some women will ovulate and release one or two eggs from 1-2 days after a period, and the symptoms can be very subtle (we had this discussion while trying to date my pregnancy). If you have a regular period with no problems, NPF works. If you are over 40 (more likely to release multiple eggs) or are irregular, or have dysmenorhea or fibroids, NPF is problematic and not recommended. Ovarian cysts can also make the whole thing more problematic as well.
Different women need different forms of birth control to work for different systems. There is no one method that will work for everyone.
Arnold's bipartisanship works for him, it would work for Republicans (who at the moment seem to have abandoned any pretense to being Republicans anyway, and have formed the new American Facist Party), and it would also work for Democrats. Except, of course, that Democrats are above that sort of thing, above everyone and everything, in fact, and so don't need to pay attention to things that make sense for others.
This is true AJCalhoun. Neither party is representing voters. Both are in the the thrall of extremists. Until we ban gerrymandering the extremists will continue to dominate local elections. Californians rejected a gerrymander ban based on misleading media. I wish they had passed it.
Kinship adoption is not always an option. My sibling and his spouse are adoting two boys. In one case the EXTENDED family are all meth users, and got nailed in court still using (while trying to get back custody. Gotta love those on the unannounced hair tests!) They had beaten the child while under the influence. Sending the child back would have meant that child's death. Thanks to the failed tests, and numerous other craziness on the part of the child's mother, aunt, uncle and GRANDMOTHER (who was a dealer) that child is GRATEFUL not to have to live with that bunch.
The other child, also from a family with a family systems problem of drug use (coke) was physically abused as well. The grandmother is coked up and was caught allowing the abuser to be in the house alone with the child unsupervised. Other family members saw nothing wrong with savagely beating a child with a belt that left scars. Did I mention a TWO year old?
Family adoption is not always a safe option. For many children, adoption means safety. When older abused children are adopted from the system, they DO NOT regret it. I taught adoptees who had been fostered in some of the academic camps at my university. They were immensely grateful to be saved from the system, and they had no wish to be with their adoptive parents. They did not idolize them.
I want young women to be able to raise their own children. I want abusers kept away from children. Vilifing adoption is not the way to get those two goals accomplished. Adoptive parents deserve accolades, not the verbal abuse this crazy women is spewing.
